but, in exe 4, netto see that metalman is one of his oppents, and he doesn't know who he is!
and he doesn't know who tamako is! same for tamako!
so, insted of saying:
netto: "hi! tamako-san!"
tamako: "hello netto-kun!"
thay say:
netto: "who are you?"
tamako: "i am metalman's operator! who are you?"

what happened to thire memory? XDD

That gives me another idea. You know that flashy thing they had in Men In Black that erased everyone's memory? Maybe some delinquents are going around using it on everyone between games and taking their stuff. That explains not only how Lan always loses his chips and everything, but also how no one remembers him saving the world so many times and how he and Tamako don't remember each other at all.

Heh.

To be realistic, I think Tamako just doesn't want to remember Lan, since after all, she seems to only remember him as the one who wiped the floor with her navi every time they battled. She lost the N1 quarterfinals to him, and probably lost many other battles in the same way.

Wasn't battling Metalman optional? Just pretend it doesn't happen according to the actual plot. Instead, Netto was just a random tourist she might have seen run past her stand. :P

They battled in the N1. Remember on Hades Isle when you had to pick one of the four doors? That's where you had to fight her. Not sure if they did anything after that like agreeing to be friends or anything; I'll have to play through again sometime and see.

Well I think Netto's dad is the reason behing it, I mean, He's a great programmer and all, and seeing how every time Megaman gets too much power, he ends up blowing up every thing. That would account for the lost of the armors and styles, as Dr. Hikari made it so that every time Megaman gets to a certain power level, his programing resets and evolves again and again, that would explain how Soul Unison came about in the games. Dr Hikari saw that it was either this or have to deal with a bug-soul or something.

I was always under the impression that Lan had amnesia and forgot where he kept the backup device with his uber-folders, as well as most other things.

Ah, right... my fault for not playing the game in quite a while. Well... it must not have been a very memorable experience. That or it was mistranslated. :P

Now hang on. THAT I like.

I agree on the point between 3 and 4 - due to Rock's deletion, everything was wiped. That would fully explain the deletion of the Styles, because as it was said, Chng.bat programming was no longer contained in his data.

But the whole bit Xel brought up about a reset function.

I had a tape recorder a few years back, that had a little three-digit counter on the side. When it reached 999, it would reset back to 000 and start over. Now sure, technically that was just showing 1000 without a fourth digit. ...but somehow, I think Navis are a LITTLE bit more complex than a tape recorder.

Perhaps after reaching a certain power level - or whatever requirement you want to see fit, hey, even collecting 45 HP Memory - the programming the Navi has obtained becomes integrated into it completely. Think about it, HP Memory and all the like are just add-on programs. But they eventually fuse with the core system of the Navi, so it becomes standard.

This could also function with the theory mentioned about the 'evolution' of programming... Who's to say Rock'd be the only one with this integration system?

It also supports the conversion of 1000 to 100; as once all that data has been gathered, when it merged with the Navi's system, it could, for example, only take 1 damage from an attack instead of 10. Same basic principle.

Now maybe this only makes sense to ME, and only because it's 12 in the morning here, but I think it's all rather feasible...

In MIB, the flashy thing only makes you forget up to a certain point. If they made him forget recent events, like last time he saved the world (or the N1), he'd still remember some of his friends because they've known each other for a while. But that doesn't really make sense either, because he didn't meet Chaud until after he met Mr. Match, and Megaman didn't remember Match in BN2... now that I think of that, I'm not really sure what might've happened. Bravo. That seems to make perfect sense to me.

It is feasible to think that the HP is on a sliding scale, as many of the previous posters have claimed. Hell, I even think that too.

Perhaps the integration isn't done at a fixed point, but rather is up to the will of the navi. Navis are, after all, no more than "individuals," in the loosest sense, and they are sentient and can decide things for themselves. The HP programs are probably big programs, and to maintain room for new programs, a navi should sweep them into core programming every so often. This would serve to clarify the above point.

I don't know. My brain is shot too, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better for me...
