Nintendo Power review

Looks promising. I'm looking forward to swinging downtown sometime next week or so if I can manage to get a copy.

Sorry. That was the last of the Kirby talk. There's a Kirby game coming out for the Wii. And Unleashed seems to be ok. I'll get it.

Well, it's out. I've just got it myself, let's see how it plays.

Update:

"Ah Green Hill. We had some good times over here, didn't we Tails?"
"Good times? Eggman turning all of our animal friends into robots?"
"Yes, good times."

Ok, it's quirky. I like that.

I've been playing it...and right now...I'm not really liking it. I can't put my finger on it...but something about it doesn't sit right with me.

I don't like the art style for cutscenes...it's all choppy...and the opening intro for the game looks terrible art-wise. It's vry reminiscent of Archie Comics...and that is a style I simply DO NOT like.

Ever since I started playing it...my whole body has been hurting.

I kind of agree on that. I don't like this game graphics, much, while the drawn sceneries were a good idea, the rest just sticks out terribly. And the CG cutscenes, yes, bad.

Now that it's out where ever, someone check around for DS to Wii interactions for the chao (or tiny chao idk) garden. If there's any Wii interaction, then Unleashed should have chao.

Yeah I saw it out Tuesday and though it couldn't be right, and that it must be a pre-order box. JB HiFi doesn't do pre-orders though so I was kind of surprised.

I didn't have the money to buy it and after the previous few Sonic games I really didn't want to risk my money without knowing more about it first.

Glad I waited. V__V;

Spore (despite all it's issues) was a better choice by the sounds of it.

Win some, lose some.

I had hopes considering that this is BioWare, but with all the recent reports of its mediocre status... eh, you can't win 'em all. Not that I particularly mind, the Sonic fandom as a whole has driven me so far away from that spark of enjoyment I had when I rediscovered SatAM that I think I'm just going to chalk Sonic up to good memories and leave it at that.

I am planning on picking up a copy this weekend just to see things through. Hopefully Chronicles will surpass the reports I've seen, but I kinda doubt it.

Eh, there's nothing else really out for the DS that I'm interested in at the moment, so I guess I'm try to get a copy sometime next week and give it a whirl.

And yes, fandom's can ruin a lot of things. I actually can't stand a good chunk of the Megaman fandom. We're so divided and there are far too many whiny elitists out there.

I still don't understand why people don't just play the game if their fans of the game series.

Either way, I've grown up with Sonic and I will try and play every game there is. I still play 06 but I don't have Xbox360 since I always play it on my friends xbox. Even though people say its a bad game with the glitches.

Which I still don't know what their talking about. I haven't ran into a single one when I played it>_>.

Also in my opinion, I think it depends on the persons taste for games. I mean it is Sonic first RPG game. Course they will be confusion about this.

You don't know people. Some have to complain. And 06 was half way finished. That's the truth.

Heh heh, even the fandom I'm most active in these days, One Piece, argues over the most retarded stuff. Luckily, some realize just how retarded it is.
Poster 1: (...) She joins with the snake...and everyone (AP Forums) argues whether or not the snake is the 10th crew member for another year.
Poster 2: Yeah, let's start that argument right now! Should the snake be the 11th Straw Hat?
Poster 1: Oh no you didn't!

Anyway, back to Sonic, I've watched some stuff on Youtube, and apparently Chronicles isn't a bad game, it's just a dull one. Apparently a good chunk of it consists of fetch quests before the story starts to really go anywhere, and the presentation isn't exactly flaring with vitality. The music is kind of low too. I don't know if it's a problem of Youtube, but it's too soft and unclear. Still, the graphics and 3D looks pretty nice, and there's not much else on the DS that grabs me right now, so I think I'll still try to pick up a copy next week.

Oh, don't quote me on this, but I heard elsewhere that a good chunk of the backstory ties into Sonic Battle, of all games.

The whole game seems to be taking elements from all the Sonic game stories, save for 2006 since it was erased by the timeline, yes Sonic Battle too, there's a report about the Gizoids.

The game is not bad, it's kind of fun, and the story is what it is, alright, but just keep in mind that you're dealing with a Sonic game story, so you just keep your standards to "low"-to-"zero". Regardless, it's not half bad of a game, there's a lot of exploring to do with your characters, and leveling up will grant both battle and exploration abilities. The battle system is pretty good, and offers some strategic setup. Soundwise, could be TONS better. They kept a few reminiscent sounds from the classics, like the jump, but overally, everything could be much better on the music department. The tunes are remixes of, at least so far, Sonic3D musics, but they're... really poor sounding. They've not even got the excuse of being retro, they're just bad sounding. On the graphics department, it's not so good either. It's not just a matter of limitation of the DS hardware, the model concepts per se looked bad.

But the good thing? You can make Sonic be a jerkwad all you want. It's all good fun play. Also Dexter.

People are fans of the series for multiple reasons. I personally like the gameplay style of the 2D ones, so Sonic Rush was a breath of fresh air for me. Not everyone can afford to buy lots of games a year though, so we have to be careful about picking the ones we buy. In the end I would rather buy a good game, than a bad game of a series I liked.

Yeah I know, But I'm talking about instead of judging the game by looks and trailers.

Cause thats what mostly everyone does these days is judge the game by what it looks like from Clips and trailers. Instead of playing it hands on.
