No more Tri-Monthly Contests?

Really, I wasn't even sure if this should go here or not, but I check everywhere, and this forum seemed like the best place to put this topic... Please feel free to move it, mods, if you happen to find a more suitable place for it.

Anyway, I've noticed that the last time RO has had any type of contest (the trimonthly ones) was in December of 2006... That's almost two years from this post. I realize that people can be busy, and have lives of their own, but two years is an awfully long time span.

Unless I'm just blind, and contests hosted by the site have been going on, I'm just wondering when, and if, another contest will be held officially by the site? I've noticed that some members have made up their own contests (art), but I would really like to see some more contests from the site itself pop up sometime in the future since they always have such interesting themes to them, plus, it makes the site seem more alive.

The main problem is that Ryou hasn't had enough time to create a new contest. Her life right now is very busy, so the contests have taken a backseat. Not to mention that it's hard to find an appropriate prize, considering that EXE has ended and all.

A secondary problem is the doubt about participants. We don't know how many people will participate, as member turnout has been getting lower over the last few months. Of course, I could be very well wrong here, but that is how I see it.

Right now, I really can't say 'be patient', because I know people have been patient and been wanting another contest. However, it is the only thing that comes to mind at the moment, as most of the staffer's lives have been taken up by work or school.

It's kind of funny this was mentioned, since I was thinking of having a Christmas-themed contest starting on Thanksgiving. I'm open to any kind of contest ideas and prize suggestions. :)

Maybe have a competition on Christmas wishes in any form, art, singing, videos.

I kinda regret not joining REO earlier.
Well,,, in 2006 I just became a fan so I don't know much bout Rockman that time.

Any of the EXE art books? (Like the Rockman.EXE no Himitsu one, and similar.) I know technically we could order them from places like Play-Asia.com (I know that's where I got my copy of Himitsu) but not everyone can do that, so maybe that's a possibility. I'm not sure if they've already been prizes before though xD;;...

I have an order in for the Press Kit, so I'll be getting one eventually. There's no telling WHEN I'll get it though, since they're being handmade one by one at Capcom USA. They went up for sale for about 20 minutes and accidentally sold more than the 200 they allotted. Sounds like they're going to honor all the orders, though. At least I hope so.

Even if I do get it, I'm not giving it away. :P Sorry guys.

The general argument against a fanfic contest is that with so many entries and only some judges, it takes a while to get through them. It's a lot of reading that people might not have time for. The same can hold true for AMVs.

Of course, there are always exceptions.
