No. They are like style changes. You get them radomly, after few (well, more than few) battles.

Really? So I assume that means my earlier question about if the Taurus/Wolf/Cygnus scenarios were specific to Red Joker can be scrapped? I never really heard/read a true answer to that yet anywhere. But that's what it sounds like you're getting at. And kinda is a letdown to me, if true.

Anyways, time to get Sirius! He so looks nothing like I would have expected. After my initial glimpse at his sprite (before this vid) I thought he looked like holy Seraph X Cygnus more than anything. Has anyone posted what his backstory/reason for being in game is all about yet?

Also, @Seijin, one first week sales report showed Black Ace outsold Joker by a bit. At least 6,000 copies worth. Which you can see HERE But take it for what it's worth, being an internet sales chart, it's tough to say how accurate it really is.

Looks like it. Taurus Fire is a storyline battle, Cygnus Wing is one of those walk-up-and-challenge the operator/host bonus bosses, and Wolf Woods seems to have some story relevance as I've seen a brief cutscene showing Geo talking to him before fighting Jack Corvus (they even gave Wolf, the FM, his own mugshot). I guess I can see why they did that, as it would be kind of hard to incorporate Queen Ophiuca into the game, what with Mode being Luna's Wizard and all. And Luna apparently flat out states that Pat is gone in the beginning of the game, so scratch him and Gemini Spark.

And yep, I've seen a vid of Black Ace that had the player entering a battle already in Cygnus Noise Color Out, so there you go.

As for the secret area, according to the BGM list I'm looking at, it takes place in a black hole, and that's all I know.

Not exactly. You gain a new Noise Change after you clear a Giant-Virus battle with a high enough Noise ratio. Just like Styles, you can choose to discard your current Noise Change for the new one, or keep it.

I know. I have the game. I just told it simple, because he obviously didn't know what Warning Battle is.

Anyway, yes. You can get every noise in both game. On Black Ace I managed to get Ox Noise and Crown Noise, which teoretically were Red Joker's exclusive.

I'm going to bump this because, if anyone's interested, Capcom USA has put up their website for the game, accessed through their http://megaman.capcom.com/ page, and have translated much of the content that was on the Japanese one, including much of the Satellite Server, complete with the codes needed to access the higher levels. I'm pretty impressed. I should also note that it refers to Harp Note as Lyra Note, unlike the other two games.

Oh yeah, I noted that in the rating logo, the game gets marked down for ''Mild Language''. Ooh, we're edgy now!

Oh, let's get right to the name changes. There aren't too many so far.

Shidou Akatsuki - A.C. Eos (I have no problem with the Eos part, as it refers to the Greek Titan of the dawn, which is what Akatsuki translates to, but A.C.? Now we get A.C.E OS. Kind of a dumb pun, methinks.)

Quentia - Queen Tia (They just stretched out one name into two. No problems here.)

Spade Magnets - Spade Magnes (Um, okay. Reminds me more of magnesium than magnets though.)

Dia Iceburn - Diamond Ice (No problems here.)

WAXA - WAZA (Inconsequential.)

Release date is June 30th.

A.C. might be a pun on Ace. But I guess it's a lot better than Shane Hunter.

Waaaait a tick, when was Solo known as "Geo Solo"?

When I saw A.C. Eos, I wished they had gone with Shane Hunter. Sad

Also, I think Spade Magnes (without the t) and Geo Solo are just typos... at
least, I'm hoping that's the case. They really need to proofread their stuff
before posting it for various Rockman fans to see and complain. Razz

alskjtlew OH I GET IT, A.C. Eos as a whole is the pun for Ace.

Man I haven't felt this stupid since I realized why they renamed Tsukasa into Patrick.

I think they feel there's no pun in Shane Hunter. Pun names make up this series you know. It seems to be a rule when writing scripts for children's games.

Maybe they don't proofread it so that we do complain about it, thereby allowing others to go to see for themselves to complain about it and pushing up their hits counter.

Oh wow, way to make an anthill into a mountain ESRB. The word ''scumbag'' is not at the same level as actual curse words. Yeah, that's what the ''Mild Language'' note was for.

I much prefer the bad guys being called scumbags rather than ''You darn *insert noun here*'', however.

Really? For that? ...That doesn't mean something offensive in another language does it? Because that would be the only reason I can see.

Well, now that the game is out, and I've picked up my copy, I might as well write up some of my initial impressions.

First thing I have to get off, is that the first scenario is long. In the other Star Force and Battle Network games, it took me about an hour before I beat the first boss, including thorough exploration time. It took me three hours until I got to Spade Magnes. I like a good, lengthy game, so this bodes well.

As for the story, I'm still pretty early in, but right now we have Queen and Jack, our little Prometheus and Pandora expies, causing trouble by corrupting Wizards and trying to investigate Megaman. They revealed that the main villain was Mr. King too early for my tastes, but oh well.

The character interaction has been pretty entertaining for me. Being able to directly interact with the real world has apparently made Omega-Xis even snarkier than before, and he appears to be a fan of the Alien franchise, as he keeps telling Geo to ''Stay frosty.'' There are some bits I found amusing: Omega-Xis terrorizing Luna when she pisses him off, A.C. Eos, or ''Ace'' as they nickname him, constantly binging on candy bars, and the entire town reacting like a fanboy zombie herd to Sonia's presence. And I foresee more triangle antics, what with the whole ''Why are you following me?'' bit.

Game play wise, I'm still getting used to the changes. You can Wave Change anywhere now, so that's pretty handy. There are lots of pop-up icons on the touch screen that were a nice touch, and provide you with plenty of addition information. In battle the animations and 3D are a bit smoother and polished than the other installments, but the new chip setup takes some getting used to, since you can't select any one from the get-go anymore. The Support feature is useful, like when you turn, say, an Attack + 10 into an Area Eater in order to bring the enemy into range for a Beast Slap or Wide Sword, but I don't use it too often. I'm nowhere near the part where you get Noise Changes yet though.

Oh yeah, there's also English voice acting for stuff like saying the title, Wave Change, and battle transformations. Geo's voice sounds okay, though kinda lifeless. Omega-Xis sounds okay for a canine space monster, but Ace's isn't bad at all.

So far the plot's looking like what BN4 should've been, so I'm satisfied on that front. Game looks nice, the music is nice, the graphics are nice, and the new game play changes things up a bit from previous titles. I like it quite a bit.

I like the game thus far.
Currently just before heading to the first Dealer HQ.

Things that are bad:
- Renzan cards and a few more things are not usable in the US version. Code hackers say that it is still in the game, just not accessable.

- Omega-Xis saying Buck Wild (or something like that) in every cutscene dialogue >_<

English saves can be loaded into Japanese saves and the Noise Cards and stuff can be used there. Then load the game back to your English version and the changes are still there.

I put my English Black Ace save into my Japanese game and I gave myself the Andromeda Noise (Buster max) and loaded it back on.

I forgot to ask; is there any point in deleting the viruses that appear in the over world? I deleted a couple, but they were back as if nothing had happened when I returned to that same location later.

I am not sure, but you get a Giga Card after killing the last one I think I got Max Buster Gigacard after killing the final one in Red Joker.
Strange that they re-appear in your game, they stay gone with me.

@Sketch. I have the japanese rom + sav, but it is hard to import my sav file in a REAL Star Force game Razz

That is quite the review, ComicX6, Very detailed, very nice. I got both versions for collection purposes, but to annoy my classmates, I started with Red Joker.

The voices...well, there's a lacking. I was happy when I heard about voice overs, but when a friend of mine from DMU (Duel Monsters Unlimited) told me that the voices are going to drive her insane, I...was a little disappointed. Now that I play the game, I realized I should stop hoping for the voices in the scenes, since they only come on during battle sequences, title, and EM Wave Change.

Going through half way the game by now (I forgot where I am since I've been playing it 15 hours straight til 6AM), I REALLY like the battle system. They brought back some goodies from EXE, such as combining certain chips to make one big chip.
One everyone might love and spam is Sword + WideSword + LongSword for a 320 DMG whopper (not the sandwich).
At first, I thought it had to be three in a row, which I thought would make things difficult. But I realized that as long as the first two are accessible, then the combination is still possible, even if one card is hovering over the last one like it means business.

Character wise, I'd have to say my favorite is A.C. Eos (Yeah...that isn't very subtle...). Dude's gonna get fat if he munches on those things, but the sprite animation, the sound effects, and the timing of his eating always makes me giggle.

The one thing I DO not like is the JokrProgrm. Granted, Noise becomes a vital part of your battles, and makes things better or worse. But as far as chip finding goes, that just annoys me. I get chips that I need, but they won't register on my Library. I guess it'd be too easy. But hey, at least i can use them...but I need the actually chips. I need money. This darn program keeps getting in my way...

Anyway, after playing this game, it makes me wanna go BUCK WILD!!...sorry for the lame joke...

A lame joke they use now and then is "Let's Rock" or "Time to rock!" or something. When they do that, I think they're alluding to Rockman...that may be just me...

Okay, now the viruses are staying dead. Either I was mistaken, or I needed to trigger an event or something.

I was also mistaken. The Real World viri don't give you a Giga Card, but they open a door in Noise Maze 5 (Apollo Flame area) which lead to two abilities.
