Posted: Sun Dec 07, 2008 2:06 pm Post subject: Re-Release of the .EXE series on DS? Could it work? |
|
|
I wanted to start this threat after I got an idea:
Couldn't Capcom re-release the .EXE Game's on DS cartridges, like they did with the Gyakuten Saiban/ Phönix Wright Games?
After they have given up un ZX ( ) maybe they could do that, so a new generation can play the great adventures of Lan and Megaman.
As for me, I couldn't play the first 3 .EXE game's, and it would be great if I (And, I'm sure, many other people, too) could get another chances to play these games.
Also, they did this already with .EXE 5, and I think they've made a great job with this, so why not with the other 5 parts of the .EXE Saga?
So, my main-questions are:
Do you think they could make it successfully, so they would re-release the whole .EXE universe an DS and not only the first one? Would you buy the re-release? _________________ BakuRyuu Gattai!

Whoa, watch the typos. Threads and threats are entirely different things.
Anyway, it's been discussed before, though I can't exactly recall all the pro's and con's drawn up. Something about space issues, I suppose
If they do do a re-release for the EXE games on the DS with modifications (touch screen interaction, etc) to boot, definitely. It'll be nice to hear remixed versions of some tracks, too. |

Ne, i would definitely get the DS version if they have it.
Exe 5 DS was great, I'm a bit disappointed they didn't create a DS version for Exe 6 too. _________________ Your voice seems to freeze reaching me...

Hmm, first off. I think the EXE series is a little on the new side to already be doing remakes, even if the first couple are a bit on the older side. second, do we really need them remade on the DS? because unless you own a DSi, you can play the GBA versions of the games on it. and I'm going to guess the reason they didn't do a DS version of EXE 6 is that the DS version of 5 didn't sell as well as the other 2 did.
Sure the EXE series is awesome, and I'd love to see it remade, just not yet. |

I would buy them, but I think more people would be inclined to buy them if they came with a wi-fi computability. That was something I was very disappointed with BattleNetwork 5 for the DS, since it did not have one. _________________ My art blog: http://annamariacoppi.blogspot.com/

I think at the moment, the EXE series is still too 'recent' to convert to DS. Capcom seems to have thrown their lot in with RnR right now, and people would know if they'd redo the entire series on DS that they'd just be milking for money again.
I think one of the cons is that Capcom really didn't 'add' that much new content to the DS version, aside from the Forte cross and Sol cross forms (one of which meaning that you've already played the game to death), and the more usable 'party' system. I think it's a valid concern that they probably wouldn't add much to new versions.
One of the main things I'd like to see if Capcom ever did port the EXE series to DS is if they would drastically improve things. EXE1 would need a complete overhaul in its battle system, as would EXE2. EXE3 and EXE4 could merge their respective versions together to be one game, with everything accessible from both. AFAIK, when they ported the Gyakuten Saiban series from the GBA, they not only added a brand new case to the first game, but they also improved on its most basic functions, that being the various functions during the court scenarios. I'd like to see something like that, where they improve all the basics to make the game better.
But that probably won't be for a while, if ever. RnR would probably have to finish up somehow before EXE ever got redone on the DS. _________________

Since a DS cart has more space, they can do a 3-in-1 cart.
MMBN1 changes:
Easier to move internet (every area looked the same o.o)
Limiting the chips
WiFi battling
MMBN2 changes:
Gospel chips
WiFi Battling
MMBN3 changes:
WiFi Battling
BassGS chip etc available
MMBN4 changes:
Change the game so you don't have to play it 3x to reach the secret area.
WiFi Battling
MMBN5 changes:
WiFi battling
MMBN6 changes:
WiFi Battling
Grezar (Falzer and Gregar fusion from the anime)
Able to battle every navi from the previous games at the graveyard area
Restored area's that were removed from the US/EU version (Boktai etc) |

I second ForteGS's suggestion. Especially adding back the removed areas.
Either way, I'd buy the DS versions, even though I still have each game in my closet. XD _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

I also forgot: Adding a "Hard Mode" like with MMBN2.
V1 navi having the fighting skills+hp of a V2 navi etc
2 (maybe 3) Save slots like Ryuusei no Rockman 2+3 |

I'd definitely buy it and I agree with ForteGS's suggestions. I liked how MegaMan was shown on the bottom screen [in BN5 DS], beamed into the 'Net whenever you pressed the R button. And, with a second screen, so much more could be added to the games. I'd like to see how the interface of the PET from MMBN1 would look. I have some of the art books [3rd one on the way in the mail] and the interface isn't shown as much as it's just the hardware.
O/T: Were the original PETs [from MMBN1] ever sold as toys? Or did it start with the MMBN3 version? _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

Plus if there is a changes in the DS version of those games here's the features that I want to see:
MMBN4:
All Netnavis in specific version are playable just like in BN5 and BN6.
MMBN6:
Some Netnavis from the previous games are playable like Searchman.EXE but they does not have cross souls. _________________

Of course, they could have just made one game with all the navis playable. Although that may fit more for an MMO like we said here once or twice. |

I wish Capcom would put all six games on the PSP, that way I could play them again without buying a DS or a Gameboy again.
My DS was broken in half and I gave my Gameboy away. _________________

I'm very sure they may never be on the PSP. Like how Powered Up and Maverick Hunter won't be on the DS. |

Original GBA's are pretty cheap at game shops. Pick one up and put in an afterburner. |
