This sounds like an excellent idea, I'm surprised it wasn't announced sooner. Making all the episodes available [the subbed ones anyway] will make this a success I think. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

I have the subbed files and can upload them if they are needed. I thanked heaven the day I got high speed internet and was able to use bittorrent.
I wish I had internet access in the "good old days" when EXE was being aired. |

I think this is the first time I saw the opening and ending credits the way they were supposed to be seen. Of course Kids WB made it less than stellar.
Thank you for making the first episode available Marisa! _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

Have you not seen the original? Wow, you missed out. The dub is crap compared to the awesomeness of the Japanese original. |

Eh, I've seen worse dubs. NT Warrior was fairly accurate. Most of the cuts were just filler, along with some unnecessary name changes.
Anyway, what would be a good time for everyone on Saturday? 7pm Central? 8? start throwing numbers at me _________________

This is a good idea ^^ It's been a while since I've watched the first season of .EXE ^^
I think watching until at least the beginning of Axess is manageable, since all of those eps are somewhat available. If not, I have them all here for possible sharing. Axess and Beast are still running for subbing so eventually that would come to an end. As for Stream, I have all eps but unsubbed/dubbed. ^^;
As for a time... alas, I got a massive time difference compared to American times. But if the discussion is going to be in forum format, I can at least chip in on a few chats or so ^^ _________________

8-ish (Eastern) works for me.
And the dub was by no means the worst thing ever, but it definitely took away much of the show's appeal. They took out the original music (one of my favorite aspects), the new script was hard to stomach, and the cuts and unnecessary name changes only made things worse. Hell, some of the voice actors they chose were terrible; probably one of the reasons why most people prefer sub over dub is because bad voice acting is much easier to tolerate if it's in a language you don't understand. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Yea. I was just thinking the other day how cheesy I'm sure the EXE anime sounds to native Japanese speakers. XD But all the same, compared to a lot of animes, the EXE voice actors were good and the quality of the show was great. The music edits and new voice actors drove me nuts in the dub. Plus, names like Wackoman and Torchman. O_o
But anyway, any time is good with me. I don't know if I can live chat, but if not I'll just review the eps in the forum. I still watch the occasional episode from the first season on my ipod... |

Incidentally, a re-watch could very well help out MegaMan Abridged.

What time zone are you in? Izu suggested earlier that everyone on the OTHER side of the world have a separate party at a more appropriate time. I don't know WHAT would be a good time for everyone on the other side of the world...
But for those of us in the Americas, we've got 8pm Eastern/7pm Central on Saturday, February 7 as the working time for the IRC viewing party. Any objections? _________________

Can we give the timezones in +X:00? I can convert then and see if it's viable for me to be online then. If it's in the morning that's okay, but I'm not going to be online at 4:00 AM. XD _________________

This sounds interesting...
One thing: Time difference.
I think that would be a problem.

I chat with a few American friends and usually, the time difference is about 6-8 hours. So when it's time for them to eat dinner, it's midnight for me. And sadly, school disallows me from staying up any later than that. _________________

Hmm, really? In that case, how about something like Noon, in Central Standard Time (GMT -6)? That way, it's still at a reasonable hour for most of the people who've spoken up so far...
How about it? Saturday, February 7, at 12:00 Noon CST, GMT -6? Any objections?
And even if you can't make it, there's still the discussion thread we'll have in the Anime forum. _________________

That would be...uh, 4AM I think. Not so good for me. At least 4 hours later would be a minimum for me, 6 would be preferable. _________________

Oh, you don't need to change any time just for me. It's what's best for the majority, right? ^^ If there is a forum thread, I can participate there. _________________

Ah, just remembered I'm going to someone's house tonight. I'll watch the episode before then or tomorrow and post in the thread.
I have no idea exactly how many hours off of central time I am anyway. XD |
