Episode 3 is now available for downloadHERE! Thank you so much, Saito-kun!
No party this week, as I've been extremely busy Working on uploading it now, link should be up tomorrow morning, along with the discussion summary. :3
I was thinking about making the viewing parties maybe once a month or so, because trying to organize them every week is kind of tedious X3; What do you guys think? _________________

It would take a few years. Is it that tedious? If you want I can upload the episodes every week. |

I think what Marisa meant is that we'd still have the weekly discussion, but only a monthly viewing party, likely where we'd watch 4 episodes in a row.
Seeing as I haven't been able to get to any of the parties we've already had, it sounds like a pretty good idea to me. XD _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Hehe, thank you, HeatShadow -- that's exactly what I meant.
Also, sorry this is so late -- but my computer seems determined not to let me upload anything. Anyone know what it means when upload sites are stuck on 0kb/sec for insanely long amounts of time, while everything else in the internet is working perfectly? (It means... we've gotta plug in and find the problem X3)
So because of that, no ep uploads from me this time. Saito, if you could upload the episode, that would be awesome X333 Or anyone else who wants to offer!
Actually, to be honest... my torrent of Rockman is going slowly, and I don't actually have ep 4 on me at the moment. I might need someone to upload the eps every week if I cant find a source. :3; Saito, would you wanna upload the eps every week like you said?
OKAY!
Anyway, episode notes!
So this episode has a lengthy recap, with Netto explaining the technology of the age. And boy, do I mean lengty ^^;
It's here you can really notice how much younger Netto sounds in these early episodes. His voice is very nasal and high-pitched, rather than deeper and gruffer in later episodes.
This is the episode where Yaito and Glyde are introduced. I notice that Glyde went straight for Roll, but it seems like he's just trying to be polite to the lady in the group. I don't remember him ever being attracted to Roll after this, but maybe he's just too uptight to mention it. It'd be interesting to write a Glyde/Roll fic where he's too wimpy or gentlemanly to get in Rock/Guts' way in the battle for her heart.
It's weird, but Yaito's introduction reminds me of that show I used to watch when I was little, Arthur. Muffy's introduction is one of the only things I remember about that show, because she had a chapters-long video epic detailing her life and family history, much like Yaito did. XD And iirc, she also had the braids that Yaito does, but I could be wrong.
...Are we getting a Yaito upskirt in that intro video? XD
It's interesting how Yaito's intelligence and heavily-cultured lifestyle are so prominent in her introduction. I remember that later in the series, Yaito got dumbed down into a whiny rich bitch, and the writers only used her for her money, not her brains. She's not very whiny in her first episode -- childish, yes, but in a very distinguished way. ^^
One thng that always bugged me about this episode -- when the signals are acting up, can't you send police out there to direct traffic? I remember when a storm knocked out the power in my city for a week. While the signals were out, we had policemen manning the major intersections, while in the less busy ones, people were polite enough to take turns. Then again, I live in a city of friendly drivers...
It's interesting how Rockman isn't really a big part of the episodes until there's a problem Netto needs to solve. I think we touched on that earlier. I think that changed in season 2, but I can't pinpoint exactly when. Probably around the introduction of Net City, which actually gave the navis something to *do* besides stand around and talk, hehe.
I know Yaito was hated by a lot of the fans. Looking back on her first episode, how do you think of her in her introduction? Different? Better, worse? I don't remember her vast intelligence being utilized after this.
Glyde, too, seems to be a completely different character. Instead of a whipped servant, he's more of a distinguished gentleman butler. Kind of bland, though.
Madoi was introduced in this episode, but she did so little, it was kind of hard to mention her. Sure, she sent out Colorman to mess with the traffic lights, but... well, maybe she was just too bland in her first appearance. She's brightly-colored, but her personality doesn't make her stand out. Hinoken was ominous, menacing and mysterious, while Count Elec was off the wall and zany. Both the boys were doing something that would ultimately end up killing people (starting house fires & sending crowded trains out of control.) Madoi, on the other hand, didn't really do anything besides primp and battle, while her plan was to make rush hour inconvenient. Sure, she was bound to cause a few accidents, but there was no guarantee that someone might die as far as her plan was concerned. Granted, this could be attributed to her role in the games... which... uh, anyone remember what she did in the game? Was it the traffic light thing, too? It's been years, and I can't even remember.
Anyway, next week, episode 4! Higure's introduction... DEMASU! I'm so stoked! _________________

In the games, Madoi did the traffic thing too. However, she also threatened to make a bus explode, with Meiru on it. Basically, she was a lot more threatening in the game. But yeah, you make a good point about Hinoken and Count Elec having better intros, Marisa.
... Gosh, I never even realized that Madoi seemed less of a threat in her intro ep until you mentioned it now. ^^; I wonder why the writers did that? Sure, Madoi got to manipulate Tohru later on, but still.
(Ha, I'll probably only comment on the eps with my favorite characters... mainly World Three, in case you don't know. You guys don't mind, do you?) _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

The early episodes, I think, wanted to focus on Netto himself and his friends, so we could learn about who we're rooting for. As far as Madoi's importance goes... I think part of the reason she got gypped was that Madoi's plot didn't affect Netto's life directly. Hinoken made Netto's and Meiru's ovens explode, and they were on the train that Count Elec took control of. But attacking signal lights? Netto walks or skates everywhere, so he won't get caught in traffic. And while Yaito was in close to wetting herself, none of Netto's friends were in any SERIOUS danger. Because Netto was so far removed from the actual incident, there was less focus on the incident itself (how much screentime did Madoi get, anyway? Two minutes, max?) which in turn made her look a lot less important or threatening. _________________
