I know a few of you have some of the action model kits for RockMan.exe, (The Hong Kong ones by BANDAI) so I hope you guys will be able to answer some of my questions about them.

I know you have to put them together yourself, but, do they just snap together? Is there gulling involved? How tall are they? Do they break easily?

And... Basically any other information you think I should know about them would be appreciated. =) I'm thinking about buying one (or more) through ebay, but I wasn't sure if they were worth it or not.

Also, if anyone knows anything about the models that TAKARA made, that would be appreciated, as well. =)

I don't have the Bandai ones myself, although I've also thought about buying the different style change ones to compensate for the ones Mattel never did release. Or at least I can't find/buy the prototypes anymore. ^^;

I can answer your questions for the Takara ones, though. I've got all the Battle Plaction, a Search and Metal Soul Unison, and hopefully Greiga Rock and Forte Cross Rockman are on their way soon. *shakes fist at Toys N Joys*

For imagery and size comparisons, check my photos in this thread: http://www.rockman-exe.com/online/viewtopic.php?t=8118
I've got battlechips and Mattel figures near them so you can get a good look at their size.

Battle Plaction was a general model kit for the most part. It's been forever since I put one together, but generally you have different sections to piece together and they just snap to connect. Like the arm or leg armor is two separate halves that cover a joint and snap around/over it. If this crappy diagram makes sense, they snap over a piece like this:

[ o ]

You push and connect the front armor piece and back armor piece to snap over a round joint like that, essentially.

The Soul Unison figures had a base body already made and included, you just had to kinda push the armor on over it, like putting a peg in the hole. You could keep the normal Rockman 'armor' on this pedestal piece thingy. (If you look at my Battle Plaction figures, you can partially see what I'm talking about behind the Rockman one. You can see a boot and shoulder pads right under Gutsman's box.) I think there still was some snapping and connecting like the BPs, but hardly as much.

I think they're pretty sturdy and poseable, but still you'd have to be a little more careful than with your typical American figure. Because they are smaller and have that better flexibility. I haven't had any issues with them breaking or falling apart during assembly or posing 'em.

I really do like them, even if they're a little smaller and pricier to import. I tried to grab the ones I did under $25, but it can be hard to do so. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for them.

Ah I see. And yeah, I understood your diagram. xD That's good though that they don't require glue, like other models. Thanks very much for the info. =) That really did help me out a bunch! ^^

Oh by the by, I did happen to find this figure on ebay. The description on it is pretty vague, and small, but it's still pretty cute, none the less. I'm assuming with this one you can just put into different poses and it can't be taken apart? Anyone know some more info on it?

Again, refer to my Soul Unison figure pics. Cool That particular figure is next to the Takaras and in front of the Mattel Roll/Torch/Number Soul figures.

About the same size as a Takara figure. You cannot pose it at all. What it looks like in the box is it. So the figure itself is already assembled, and just minor work to do. There's just a flat black base that the feet attach to, as well as a single wood tower that attaches in front of him. It's just for show only.

I bought the Search Soul from that seller less than a month ago, so it's trustworthy, although pricey for that particular figure. They used to sell that Wood Soul on a US anime store called Wizzywig for less than half that price, but they don't carry it anymore. Or much of any Rockman stuff. :/ Of course, since the Mattel Wood Soul was practically unobtainable, it's about the only viable option out there. That's why I first bought this Wood Soul, actually.

As far as any history on those figures, I heard they were UFO catcher prizes, not retail figures. It was a set of 4: Rockman, Blues Soul, Search Soul and Wood Soul. I have never seen the Blues Soul or regular Rockman figure for sale anywhere. But images of them all are on the back of the box. Personally, I really love the Search figure more, but they are still crafted pretty good and the pose is interesting enough even if you can't alter it.

Huh, guess I completely looked over that picture for some reason. xD Thanks for pointing that out again.
Yes, I thought it was pretty pricey myself. I'm not completely in love with it, so I don't think I'll be purchasing it, unless I somehow change my mind later. >_>U Especially since it's not posseable; that's a pretty big downside for me. I like to have that kind of option. xD But, I could definitely live without it being poseable.

But, thanks again. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for the ones that I want when they pop up on ebay, or other sites. You've definitely been a big help! Surprised
