So, uh, this is kind of hard. I'm not usually one to leak personal issues into the internet, so please bare with me.

I know I'm usually someone that isn't taken quite seriously around here. My most recent posts are pretty much pointless and it's pretty noticeable that they're few and far between. Looking back, my last constructive post was on February 16th, 2007, and quite frankly, it didn't add much to the community. And that doesn't even begin to cover my attitude in the IRC channel; most of the time, I try to present myself as someone that is not only unaware of what is going on at the time, but as someone that doesn't care. Since I know I probably haven't even proven myself worthy of your psychoanalysis, I'll just go ahead and say it myself: it's a front. Most of the time when I do this, it's out of a misguided desire to be a part of the community. It's out of a deeper desire to be a part of something.

Now, I'm sure you're thinking... "what does this have to do with this thread?". It's simple. Sitting here at nearly 6AM, browsing the boards seriously for the first time in months, I see this thread. It's almost as if it's jumping out to me. No, as if it's rubbing itself in my face. Reading the title alone - "character obsession" - it's as if something struck me. No, it's literally as if my brain itself cracked. At that very moment, I realized: I have serious psychological problems. It may seem strange, but often times in my experience, small things can trigger large reactions. Though I was feeling a bit deterred, I made what may have been a terrible decision: I went further. I entered the thread.

And what waited for me there? Purity. What I see in this thread is not obsession. Sure, discussing how "cute" an anime character is may seem a little strange, but it isn't nearly what I would describe as true obsession. But realizing this came at an even greater cost to me; in realizing that the obsessions of others are not obsessions at all, I realized the depths of my own.

Not only that, I believe I have found the source of my problems. The one, single source that has twisted my mind into the shriveled, disgusting mess it is today. The reason that I have been unable to mesh into this community as a proper member, and not as someone seen simply as an occasional amusement; a court jester, you could say. Literally, in every way, the absolute root of my illness.

My love for the Fairlion G. And because this is important, I should make it clear, not the Fairlion S.

You see, to me, the Fairlion G is not simply a robot. It is not something to be "piloted", or even "controlled". Rather, to me, the Fairlion G is no different from a normal girl. That isn't to say an anime girl - a real girl. To me, the Fairlion G is the perfect girl - she is well grown, a great dresser with an eye for color. Generally beautiful. But beyond everything, the Fairlion G lacks one certain quality - and this is probably the reason for my obsession. The Fairlion G does not judge me - it does not question me, and it does not betray me. My obsession goes beyond "character obsession"; it's almost as if I am feeling some kind of twisted love.

But that ends today. Thanks to this magnificent thread, I have solved my problem. In a way, you could say I'm cured - probably not completely, but I definitely feel as if a heavy weight has been removed from my shoulders. I feel as if I'm free of the shackles of my Fairlion G obsession, hopefully for good. As I've pretty much completely spilled my heart here, I suppose I only have one last thing to say: thank you, Dark Roll. Without this thread, I would have likely continued as I have for years: stumbling along, all alone, with nothing to show for my life; not even on the internet. But now, I can do this. I can not only become a productive member of this forum and its overarching community, but I feel like I can finally become productive in life once again.

Eh, I didn't like Narcy because he ate up so much screentime, stealing it away from other characters. Stream had cast Nobuyuki Hiyama and Ken Narita as Rei and Sunayama, and they were wasted!

Still, Narcy's seiyuu, Hiroshi Kamiya, did an incredible job with the role. If you'd heard him in any other of his roles, like Trafalgar Law, Tieria Erde, and Nozomu Itoshiki, you'd swear they were by a completely different person.
