Otakon 2009 - Look... at that horse!

I know right? But as I said, the assistant says no but the actual manager says yes. Unfortunately the manager is away so and the assistant is being a pain in the ...

Regardless, I should hope the situation will get fixed, and pray that the manager doesn't let the assistant go. That would be just awesome.

I'd say you're probably okay since you were already approved by your head manager, who has more authority than this freshly minted assistant manager. Sounds like they're just being a jerk cause they got a new job where someone else also wants to go to Otakon. :P

Well, I had my room reserved before the con ended (I managed to get the Days Inn - Thursday through Monday, non con rate) and had my pre-reg all set. Then my stepdad goes down hill in health. Basically he's dying and there's no way I can leave for a week where I have to help my mother take care of him. So, Otakon's a no-go for this year. If anyone wants the room, let me know. I'll be checking all week on and off around work and stuff at home. If no one wants it I'll offer it to the general Otakon community on LJ next Sunday. I'll have no idea when I'll be able to get back to Otakon Crying or Very sad

I was so looking forward to this year, especially where last year I had to fight the new store manager to get the time off and when I came back from the con and told her the '09 dates she was more than willing to give me the time off . . .

I shipped off my entire Greiga costume to Tabby today, so I will officially be Greiga Rockman for OtaRockman this year. :D

In other news, as for choice of gaming I'm going to "attempt" to bring my 360 this year. Mainly because I have all the expansions for MM9 on there, but also for other hilarious gaming like UNO Rush, Castle Crashers, Left 4 Dead... and of course as a DVD player... you know, 'case someone rushes to the X-Strike Studio's booth and buy's more of their DVD's *coughhecxzcough*. If I do manage to bring it, I can always get anyone's gamertag on my system (or just bring a memory card with it.)

I'll keep you guys informed.

Yeah, I'm trying to get a shotgun (nerf form of course) for Francis. Trying to hit up my friend Oz for some of the pieces of the costume. I would have liked to put a Ghostbusters costume this year. Meh, game's good at least.

As for L4D, Ryouko, join the club. I spend half my time looking in every which direction and firing blindly. And then I wonder why when I'm down my teammates flip a coin and decide whether they'll actually save me this time or not. Hecxz can confirm.

Hey guys, considering I always arive at Otakon usualy Friday afternoon. is there anyway I can contact you guys once I get to the hotel (I'm at the Raddison) Its kind of a pain scouring the convention hall looking for all of you so I can say hi and stuff and then be promptly ignored cause I'm not cool enough to hang out with everyone (I kid, I kid) I usualy get down there between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. anywhere I can go to begin my search, besides kicking down hotel doors?

As for the signs, there's some wacky stuff with Baltimore City and Otakon. They're always butting heads. One of my friends knows more of the details, which I'll try and get when I get to the con. Needless to say, they're trying to keep the city happy even though the city has a love/hate relationship with them. They don't like Otakon, but they like the money it brings to the city. Hell, the only reason the Hilton got built is because Otakon threatened to move to DC since it had a hotel connected to it's convention center. The moral of the story is: Baltimore City sucks.

Ryo: I'll PM you my gamertag. Always up for some quality zombie hunting time. Prolly the weekend seeing as Hecxz and a bunch of friends have (or at least trying to get back into) gaming night on Thursdays.

Finally, there might not be any freebies this time around. I went to go clean out the drawer today and stuff a giant bag...... and someone beat me too it. I don't know if they threw it away or if it's in the back somewhere.
