So, it finally happened... The save battery in the first game gimped out on me, and it needs to be replaced. Does anyone know any specifics about this or had to do this themselves? I'd like some info. |

bizarre, indeed, my cousin has firsts versions of Mario still working...
maybe you can try to back up the cartridge whit a reader and then write the image on a new one.
if you want to replace the internal battery you need a special screwdriver, easily findable on the Net (it seems nintendo sold it, but discontinued, maybe you can use ebay?)
edit: thinkgeek seems to have a complete console kit, here's the address:
thinkgeekDOTcom/gadgets/tools/9e7d/
and there's another one here:
sulitDOTcomDOTph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/1137731/Precision+Screwdriver+Set
you know what to do with that DOTs _________________ Sardinia is not Italy!

I've never done it myself, but I would say like Ozone said, get the special screwdriver for the screw on the back of your GBA cart and replace the battery, there shouldn't be too hard to get, aren't they normally powered by like watch batteries and such? Anyways eBay is your one stop shop to get what you need, also you can look up a FAQ about changing batteries and such online by looking it up in Google. _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

I know, I was just hoping I'd find someone experienced at this, lest I destroy my game. |

It's already ruined anyway. It's not hard once you have the replacement battery and the cartridge open. |

I never knew that could happen. It never happened to me on my old GBA games. _________________

That's a weird thing indeed, but search Play-Asia for a "Tri-Wing Screwdriver". Costs like, 2 bucks and it opens Nintendo's special screws easily. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :
