I understand that he deserved it. I was just saying it sounded like the large sentence wasn't given just for his own actions from the way people were talking.
And regardless of what he did, court trials are always depressing to me. I agree, he ruined people he needs to stay in jail. Apparently I haven't made myself clear. |

@Sol :
I've never really heard of how much he swindled or who his victims were but now that I've read your posts, I know have a much clearer understanding of just how much of a scumbag he was. I mean, damn! He quite literally swindled everyone from Hollywood and back. Obviously this is quite the tragedy but I can't help to be amazed by this.
And of course, 150 years is more than lenient. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

i don't see the point of a punishment that isn't intended to reform and return a person back into society.
while i understand that a lot of people feel this is what he deserves for hurting others, a sentence like this serves no other purpose than killing someone slowly. _________________ hi mom. |

Yes but isn't he really old. He'll probably die in prison. Plus they took all his and his wife's stuff. They might just sell it. |

Equil: I think that was exactly the point. The sentence he got was to make an example out of him to the rest of the world, as to what anyone would expect if they attempted such a scheme as his. A punishment has to fit the crime.
Wibby: Wishful thinking. Whatever they're selling will go back to the people he swindled in the first place...and, just like Midnight had said before, those affected will barely get anything back. The total value of all of his properties and holdings don't even come close to the total amount, IIRC. _________________
