Maq's 2009 Mega Man Bathing Suit Contest

Pardon the shameless plug, but I can promote a contest that isn't my own for once.

Since 2001, Maqqy's Mega Man Bathing Suit Contest has been a staple in the Rockman community. After a few glitches last year prevented any results from happening, the contest is back with the hope of being bigger and better than ever! This year, Rockman Perfect Memories is acting as a co-sponsor of the contest and hosting the entries, as opposed to Maqqy's site, MHHO. Also new this year are some spiffy prizes. There are two categories like always, one for Talent and one for Content. And the top three entries (yes, there are now prizes for the TOP 3. Official contest page may or not be updated by the time of this post) in each category will win some cool Rockman swag.

- The grand prize for each category is the winner's choice of either a copy of the Mega Man Official Complete Works or a 1-year subscription to dA.

- The second place winners will get a set of 22 Link Battlechips. 20 of the chips will be identical for each winner. 2 chips will be special to each winner. The Talent Winner will nab a Recovery150 and Blues SP. The Content Winner's special chips will be HeatMan and SlashMan.

- The third place winner in the Talent Category will win Vol. 1 and 2 of Shigeto Ikehara's Rockman 7 manga. Third place for Content will take home a Rockman.EXE Axess Japanese Capsule 5" Search Soul figure and a Mattel 2" Metal Soul figure (loose, not in package)

The deadline for the contest is Saturday, September 12th, 2009. So there's only about a month left.

I have one quick question. I didn't see this in the rules, and I know some contest don't allow the entries to be posted up elsewhere until the contest is over with. Does it matter when we post up our entries on, say, Deviant Art, or other websites, or does it have to be once the contest is over with?

As I said, Seijin, the official rules are at the link I provided at the end of my first post. But if you need a quick summary:

- MegaMan/Rockman characters + swimwear = valid entry!
- LIMIT 2 ENTIRES PER PERSON (one for each category, talent or content)
- NO NUDITY
- All entries should be submitted to Vixy's email at: mistress@rockmanpm.com

On to linkfreak's question, in the past Maq has never had a rule about posting them before judging. I posted my entries early two outta the three times I entered. That's somewhat because a) she usually chose judges who weren't all part of this community, so there wasn't all that bias and b) there never really were prizes involved, other than art commissions from her.

HOWEVER...
this year, yeah, we've decided to keep everything secret until the contest ends. Just to be fair, especially since there were three months between the start of the contest and the deadline. So please, if you do submit, hold off on posting your entry to your dA account or what have you until after the deadline has passed. Thanks for asking.
