I'm kind of surprised no one has made a topic about this yet; a (actually not just good, but great) superhero game of this caliber doesn't come around all that often, and it's bound to have attracted some attention around here. So has anyone else gotten it? Finished it? Got it but didn't like it? I'm curious. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

I would so totally buy this game, but I don't have a PS3. ;_;
It even has the voice actors from the original cartoons series,
right? Batman: the Animated Series? So awesome!!~ o_o _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

Kevin Conroy (Batman: the Animated Series) is, I think, the quintessential Batman voice. There are some times, however, when I look up Sir Adam West for a good laugh; the old live action series was so bad, it was good. ("What would you say, Robin, if I told you that Maestro, the greatest piano player IN the world, hit a wrong note during a live performance?" "Holy Impossibilities, Batman!"; *this conversation occurs through a radio hidden cleverly in a hole dug through the pages of what was once Robin's college textbook. Ah, the cell phone, how I love thee, modern marvel that you are.)
Hey, did anyone cath Batman: Gotham Knight? They brought Conroy BACK for it!

I strongly disagree. I almost died watching that. |

I also own neither a PS3 nor a 360, but I have watched an entire playthrough on Youtube, and it looked pretty impressive, much more stealth-oriented than you typical beat-em-up, and lots of little extra Easter eggs sprinkled about. And even though I wasn't playing and just watching, the Scarecrow managed ot scare me quite a bit with his fear gas antics, especially the morgue sequence.
It was great hearing Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill again, and it was so fun listening to his Joker. I liked how they portrayed the Joker's gameplay in his play modes. X-ray glasses in place of Detective Mode, exploding teeth, the gun from the Tim Burton movie, and how giddy his animations were. I laughed so hard when one of his silent takedown animations was simply kicking the guard in the crouch.
It was also funny how Batman was always going ''Stay here, you'll be safe.''/''It's all right now.'' to the Arkham staff and when you'd revisit those areas latter in the game they'll all be dead.

Oh yeah. Mark Hamill's Joker definitely steals the show here, just like he did in the old cartoon, and with some truly quality lines too:
"Come on boys, he's just one man! One man dressed like a lunatic and armed to the teeth... hehehehahahaha, GO GET 'IM!"
"Heeey, Bats, go easy on 'em, will ya? For me? Oh, what the hell do I care, DO YOUR WORST! Hahahaha!"
And when you take down a few enemies during one of the stealth sequences, Joker will let the others know what's going on...but in his own rather colorful way "Gee, are we missing someone? I'm sure there were more of you on the timesheets..." and "I don't want to alarm you boys, but I think Batman might be in there with you!"
Of course, Kevin Conroy gets some great lines of his own in:
Oracle: You put a Batcave on Arkham Island? How'd you keep something like that a secret?
Batman: (after a brief pause, and with a slightly smug tone) It's me, remember?
I caught myself laughing out loud a few times, and it's been quite a while since I've been able to do that with a video game and not in an "oh my god, that's so bad" kind of way. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Yes I know. I just don't share in the sentiment that this particular show was enjoyable even in its awfulness, as some are. Just a little bit of wry humor. |

Adam West was a notable Batman because he's the first on TV and he's the fun Batman. Kevin Conroy is most often times known and will be known as the animated Batman. Two different sides of Batman.
Like the Jokers.
Cesar Romaro was the classic fun Joker, No insanity.
Heath Ledger is the evil insane Joker, Little fun.
And so,
Mark Hamil added in some Insanity to Cesar Romaro's Fun Joker. More evil too.
I can't remember the first Movie Joker though. Jack Nickleson.
That make any sense? |

For those with uber sexy gaming computers, I think that's for you. UNFORTUNATELY. I have something that can't even run Portal. T_T Just bought the Orange Box for that reason too. Oh well, until I upgrade I guess.
However... My friend bought and played it, and from what he's saying, he likes it very much. I want to play it too. |

I plan on getting this game in October. I usually just skip on Superhero games but from what I heard this one is on a different level than the usual (poor) stuff. _________________ Name shortened from Serenade.exe |

Just played it. So much I like. Joker's way of thinking intrigues me. The graphics are terrific and ghoulish. Plus the puzzles; man they are confusing and almost simple at the same time. Finally got the Rope-A-Dope-A-Dope achievement.
Favorite line: "Come on boys, he's just one man! One man dressed like a lunatic and armed to the teeth... hehehehahahaha, GO GET 'IM!" _________________ As a Deviant, I work alone on my projects.

I have only seen some reviews (PC version will be released here soon, dont have 360 or PS3) but I heard that you don't even fight all the bosses except Bane.
From what I heard, it is a Batman villain who just calls seom goons, making it a survival match (Like endless Brawl etc). |

It's true, actually. And while having actual boss fights certainly would've been nice, what you get instead fits well with the enemies and are still pretty challenging, so they end up being more "boss encounters" than "boss fights". None of the encounters are the same and some of them aren't even combat per se (hell, solving all of Riddler's puzzle challenges could be considered a boss encounter itself). _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Well, it does fit more that the puzzles are as hard as boss fights.
He is Batman. |
