Continuing in the vein of my last post (from umpteen months ago -- I need to come here more often -_-U), I was wondering if there was a database, or at least, any information, of Battle Network Secret Chips. As it's been a good 3 years since EXE 6, should I use spoilers, here?

Now, when I say "Secret", I'm not referring to opposite version Navi chips. My usage of "Secret" means the really rare ones that are available only in Japan, and only at really special events.

So far as I know, they include:

BN4:

Gun Del Sol EX G
Zero Saver Z (Is that it's name? I can't remember).
Duo D
Grand Prix Power G (which, I believe, is a combo attack of VideoMan, KendoMan, and LaserMan).

BN4.5:
Final Gun ?

BN5:

Otenko O
Gun Del Sol EX G
Leader's Raid L
Lord of Chaos X
Final Gun ?

BN6:
Greiga
Falzer
Double Beast (curiously, I have a BradyGames strategy guide with what may be the actual ARTWORK for this chip -- as in, what goes in the blank space if you hack the game to use the chip).

...And now for the really rather n00bish request part. Does anyone have any knowledge to flesh out/correct this list?

I'm not sure that Django and Hakushaku would really count as secret chips. In the English version they are indeed partly inaccessible but in the Japanese version they're part of the Boktai area which isn't that hard to find or get into. Besides if we start saying a Secret Area boss is a secret chip then we end up having to say a lot of things are secret chips.

If I remember correctly EXE 3 had Punk which you could only get from an event in Japan or by hacking.

This thread makes me want an old game idea I (and many others, I'm sure) had. Now it would be adapted to a DS card with extra storage space, that could actually download new chip and scenario data to the game. Not just unlock it, but download new updates. Like an EXE MMORPG. XD When I first thought of it it was for the Pocket PC and had large internet areas where you walked around online and talked to other people like in WoW, and could battle them. It was a neat idea.

Pity I can't make it. Sad

Didn't BN2 have the Gospel Cannon series?

That's right, it had Fire, Wood, Elec and Aqua. You used them with Forte to make the Darkness Messiah P.A. 3000 damage was pre-tty broken after all.

...except that everyone pretty much used Gater all the time, rendering Dark Messiah useless.

Don't forget to mention the EXE2 and EXE3 secret chips, the ones you got randomly from fighting a friend. I would count those, since not everyone would be able to get them.

Got my hands on Battle Network's OCW recently, so lessee...

MegaMan Battle Network:

Forte F
-Forte appears and covers the field in his Variable Buster Rake attack, which does 200 damage to every enemy, no more, no less.

MegaMan Battle Network 2:
(I'm not sure about most of these being straight-up secrets, and I might have some of these effects wrong)

Big Red Wave F, H, P, R, S, *
-Heat Style Rockman summons a wave of lava to travel down the row, which does 220 fire damage. (Possibly needs broken panel).

Freeze Bomb A, I, J, Q, U, *
-Aqua Style Rockman throws a bomb three panels ahead, which attacks a panel and each of its adjacent panels with 180 aqua damage.

Sparker C, E, G, K, V, *
-Elec Style Rockman shoots an electric shock down the row for 100 piercing damage.

Gaia Sword D, L, N, W, Y, *
-Wood Style Rockman uses a sword on the panel in front of him for 200 wood damage; the sword may absorb the attack of the chip following it, adding to its original attack.

Black Bomb B, F, G, P, R, *
-Rockman summons a large, black bomb which he launches forward three panels. If hit with a fire attack, the bomb will ignite and cover the opponent's field in 200 fire damage.

Fighter Sword A, I, L, S, Y, *
Knight Sword F, J, K, M, Q, *
Hero Sword E, N, O, T, Z, *
-Rockman attacks with a greatsword that reaches three panels forward. Fighter Sword does 100 damage, Knight Sword does 150 damage, Hero Sword does 200 damage.

Meteors (Ryuuseigun) B, H, O, R, V, *
-Rockman summons a series of meteors which strike the opponents field, panel by panel, for 40 fire damage. If the meteors reach the end of the opponent's field, they will cycle back to the beginning until they are spent - if the opponent's area has been reduced or extended, it will affect the allotment of the meteors.

Poltergeist E, P, R, U, W, *
All on-field obstacles are levitated and hurled at enemies for 200 (?) damage.

Gate SP G, *
-GateMan appears and uses his Gate Cannon attack which travels down the row, dealing 300 damage to the first thing it hits.

Fire Gospel, Aqua Gospel, Elec Gospel, Wood Gospel X, *
-Gospel appears and uses its Gospel Breath attack, which deals 600 damage in the corresponding element to the enemies it hits.

Sanctuary A, C, E, L, S, *
-Rockman's field becomes all Holy Panels. Factors in territory changes.

MegaMan Battle Network 3:

Forte GS X
-Forte appears on your current panel and summons a full Gospel Cannon on the next, and then uses Vanishing World, which does 700 piercing and grounded damage along a straight line, and which spreads to the rows above and below after the first panel of the actual attack, and then returns back to the main square after that. (In other words, if you launch the attack from the center of your area, the opponent will be safe if he's standing in the center two corners of the field, but if you launch it from the back of your area, his BACK two corners will be safe). Every panel the attack touches is shattered.

(The following two chips aren't really secret, but may be nigh impossible to get for many - you must have no less than three stars, and then you have to S-Rank an opponent in a V.S. Battle).

Delta Ray Edge Z
-ProtoMan appears and jumps in front of the nearest opponent, and will do a strike for 220 damage. If the A button is pressed at the proper time, he will jump behind the enemy and strike again for another 220 damage. He can repeat this a third time, and if successfully carried out, the enemy will be ringed in a shining triangle.

Balance (Ryuseibai) Y
-Lightning strikes the whole field - everything loses half of it remaining HP.

MegaMan Battle Network 4

This game is infamous for its varied ways to obtain secret chips.

Grand Prix Power G (E-Reader download available until February 2004)
-Video Man, Kendo Man, and Laser Man all attack (I'll fix this description when I learn HOW they attack).

There are 36 Secret Chips that you can earn through the Free Tournament system Higsby sets up.

Roll Arrow 1 A,F,T
Roll Arrow 2 D,R,W
Roll Arrow 3 Q,Y,Z
-Roll appears and fires a Roll Arrow down the row. Level 1 does 50 damage, Level 2 does 70 damage, Level 3 does 90 damage. If the enemy has chip data, the Roll Arrow will destroy it on contact.

Guts Punch 1 B, E, N
Guts Punch 2 G, P, Y
Guts Punch 3 M, Q, T
-GutsMan appears and punches whatever happens to be in the panel in front of him. Level 1 does 100 damge, Level 2 does 140, and Level 3 does 180.

Propeller Bomb 1 E,G,P,*
Propeller Bomb 2 F,V,Z,*
Propeller Bomb 3 H,J,Q
-WindMan appears and launches his Propeller Bomb down the row. If it hits an opponent, it will shatter and do nothing. If it manages to travel across the opponent's area off screen, it will explode and do damge to the back two rows of the opponent's area. Level 1 does 120 damage, Level 2 does 160 damage, and Level 3 does 200 damage.

Search Bomb 1 B,R,S,*
Search Bomb 2 C,I,O
Search Bomb 3 M,U,W
(Seeker Bomb in North America)
-RockMan throws a grenade at the nearest opponent. Level 1 does 80 damge, Level 2 does 110 damage, Level 3 does 140 damage.

Meteor Rain 1 G,L,S,*
Meteor Rain 2 M,Q,T
Meteor Rain 3 C,R,Z
(Meteors in North America)
-5 meteors rain down on opponent area for Fire damage. Level 1 meteors does 50 damage. Level 2 does 60 damage. Level 3 does 70 damage.

Lightning 1 L,T,W,*
Lightning 2 A,E,V
Lightning 3 H,J,Q
-Lightning strikes the obstacles on the field and the panels surrounding them for Elec damage. Level 1 does 100 damage. Level 2 does 130 damage. Level 3 does 160 damage.

Hayabushi Giri 1 H,N,O
Hayabushi Giri 2 F,S,V
Hayabushi Giri 3 I,N,Z
(Hawk Cut in North America)
-Blues appears and slices twice, once with a Wide Sword, once with a Long Sword for sword damage. Level 1 does 80 x 2 damage. Level 2 does 90 x 2 damage. Level 3 does 100 x 2 damage.

Number Ball 1 E,L,W
Number Ball 2 A,E,P
Number Ball 3 L,T,Y
-NumberMan appears and rolls a series of balls down the row, which will each do damage equivalent to the last two digits of your HP (max 99). Level 1 launches 3 balls. Level 2 launches 4. Level 3 launches 5.

Metal Gear 1 A,M,P,*
Metal Gear 2 C,E,G,*
Metal Gear 3 I,L,Q,*
-RockMan will summon a Metal Gear in his row that will go back and forth until an opponent enters the same panel it does, at which point it will explode and do Break damage. Level 1 deals 100 damage. Level 2 deals 130 damage. Level 3 does 160 damage.

Panel Shoot 1 A,H,S,*
Panel Shoot 2 C,G,T,*
Panel Shoot 3 F,J,N,*
-Rockman levitates the panels around him into the air and launches them at the opponent. NOTE: Rockman can ONLY use panels from his own field. At Level 1, Rockman can only levitate the panel in front of him for 100 damage. At Level 2, Rockman can launch as many panels from his row as possible for 60 damage each. At level 3, Rockman can launch up to four adjacent panels for 80 damage each.

Aqua Upper 1 B,S,Z
Aqua Upper 2 I,P,U
Aqua Upper 3 F,K,W
-Rockman summons a geyser from beneath every opponent standing on a cracked panel for Aqua damage. Level 1 does 110 damage. Level 2 does 140 damage. Level 3 does 170 damage.

Green Wood 1 G,J,Y
Green Wood 2 D,K,P
Green Wood 3 E,N,P
-Rockman summons Wood Towers from beneath opponents on Grass panels for Wood damage. Level 1 does 120 damage. Level 2 does 140 damage. Level 3 does 160 damage.

Gun Del Sol EX G (Number Trader Download)
-Rockman uses a very powerful Gun del Sol, which consumes both the second a third row in front of him.

Z-Saver Z (Data exchange with Rockman Zero 3)
-Rockman uses (Repliroid) Zero's Saber, which makes 3 cuts: a Long Sword swipe, a Wide Sword swipe, and a Fighter Sword-length swipe - each does 100 damage.

Duo D (E-Reader Download available until June 2004)
-The back two rows of Rockman's area disappear and Duo emerges. He then uses Meteor Knuckle on the opponent, doing 200 damage per hit.

MegaMan Battle Network 4.5

Black Weapon
-Unknown

Final Gun
-Rockman repeatedly fires blasts of 50 damage for up to 700 overall.

MegaMan Battle Network 5

Otenko O - Otenko appears on the panel in front of Rockman; and will incrementally boost the attack of your next chip until he disappears, at which point the chip returns to its original attack power.

Gun Del Sol EX G - Same attack as in Battle Network 4.

Leaders' Raid L - Blues and Colonel appear and attack simultaneously - Blues launches a sword swipe which hits the nearest enemy for 200 damage, and Colonel launches a cross divide, which will deal 400 damage if positioned correctly.

Lord of Chaos X - The Lord of Chaos materializes in its Nebula Grey form, and then reforms into its Forte form, which then uses Chaos Nightmare on the enemy area for 500 damage that also cracks panels.

Bat Cannon 1 *
Bat Cannon 2 S
Bat Cannon 3 R
Bat Cannon 4 Z
-The Bat Cannon series is usable insofar as I know only in the Cross Over battles with BokTai against ShadeMan. It will morph Rockman's buster into a larger version of itself, with bat wings extending from the sides. Each attack deals 40 damage, though if it hits it will have an affect on the opponent that will occur at the beginning at their next turns. Bat Cannon 4 will shoot multiple times, one for the first three attacks' effects. The effects seem by and large to be summoning viruses for the opponent to deal with.

*NOTE: Battle Network 5 and Battle Network 4.5 apparently share some kind of template, as there are people all over youtube with hacks having them use Final Gun in BN 5. I have no idea; the Official Center would like me to inform you that Final Gun has nothing to do with Battle Network 5. Rockman.EXE Complee Works lists it as a BN 4.5 chip. I list it as a BN 4.5 chip.

MegaMan Battle Network 6

Otenko O - Same as in Battle Network 5.

Gun del Sol EX G - Same.

Greiga X - The screen will go dark, and a silhouette of Greiga will appear, eyes gleaming. Then Greiga will fully materialize and use a purplish variant of Greiga Breath for 300 damage, along with falling rocks which will also do 300 damage.

Falzer X - The screen will go dark, and Falzer's strike feathers will rain down on the opponent, doing 100 damage each (they may stack). Falzer will then appear in the center of where Rockman's area would be and use its Sonic Wave attack.

Double Beast W
-Greiga-Rock and Falzer-Rock appear simultaneously. G-Rock does a sword swipe, then F-Rock uses Twister while G-Rock uses Drill Arm, and then F-Rock uses a Long Sword from behind G-Rock, who then warps to the back panel and uses a Vulcan as F-Rock does another sword swipe (possibly Wide Sword). G-Rock then finishes with Greiga Claw. In short, Greiga-Rockman and Falzer-Rockman go to town for a total of 420 damage. It appears that they can spread their attacks to other enemies, and F-Rock may warp behind an opponent to do the Long Sword swipe.
