i made these some time back with the intention of making a 3d exe game demo thing but never bothered to finish them. i probably never will, so i'm just dumping them here. less than 1200 triangles each.

Those don't look too bad. So how hard is 3D modeling? And what kind of game is it? |

Dang, these are really awesome! And I'm not just saying that, I've seen plenty of homemade models. No Rockman? Or Roll or Blues? I would love you forever if you actually made the game.
You should at least find someone else who could continue the project and hand it off to them. :D |

Amazing modeling. I would really love to make these models into papercrafts. After all, there aren't any EXE crafts. So, could you send me them or at least one? Also do you have any textures for the models? Cause that would be really useful. _________________

They've managed to rip the textures from MMNT on the gamecube... I bet they could be blown up to a proper resolution (and GIMPed/Photoshopped to look pretty) and jury-rigged to these models. |

thanks for all the nice words. um, better answer your questions.
Unknown Neo wrote: | So how hard is 3D modeling? And what kind of game is it? | these models were fairly easy imo, the exe designs just lend themselves to work well in 3d. i really just wanted to remake the battle mode, and then see where it'd go from there. ...and i didn't even get that far.
Saito-kun wrote: | No Rockman? Or Roll or Blues? | i have about half of rock and proto done. i think i got stuck on the faces and never made up my mind about how to construct them.
sgonzales22 wrote: | So, could you send me them or at least one? Would you be willing to share numberman or fireman with me? :D You should definitely finish the Rockman model, at least.
So what would you have used if you'd continued the project? darkBASIC? Torque? XNA? I'm really interested in this. |

sure, no problem. just give me a couple of days or something. i'd probably have to get rid of the inner part of numberman's head, but other than that there should be no problems.
panda3d. i just happen to know python, and it's a fairly able engine. i did make a quick mock-up, but i had issues with their exporters and couldn't be bothered to manually translate any models into it.
some sort of internet overworld cannon. i figured i need more pictures.
i'll texture something sooner or later, but right now i don't have the time to dig out my intuos. _________________ hi mom. |

Hmm, quite intriguing. So you said you had trouble using those models? Does it require another format or something or is it stored as a unique python array? I don't know any python but I've fiddled with doing some pretty intense googling () and finagling with programs to get formats to cooperate. Or was that not what you meant? XD
Nice cannon! Strange as it sounds, I can never do geometric machine-like things. I'm better with organic shapes. (That's probably because subdividing makes things pretty XD) I don't pretend to be any good though.
I probably wouldn't be much help but I'd love to try if I could! I would love a 3D EXE battle demo! What format are the models in? I can't open 3DSs. |

well, it's mostly a question of file formats. panda takes *.egg, which is used exclusively by that engine. but they've added *.fbx support since i last fiddled with it, so it would probably be possible to start importing material right now.
i'm predominantly a maya user, but most game engines accept a few specific formats, so exporting is always a necessary middle step. i'm a pretty busy guy nowadays, but if you find a group of people sharing your desire to make a 3d game, i wouldn't mind helping out. _________________ hi mom. |

Ok cool. I don't have any experience with 3D games (and my 2D is only with Multimedia Fusion) but Unity is free now so maybe I'll get something going.
EDIT: Ah well, maybe not. @_@ I don't think I have time to learn how to use this properly. XD |

Those look pretty nifty. 3D modelling isn't my cup of tea, but that means I only like to see other people working their ways with programs ^^ Are you considering to do more with this? For example, make animations or something? ^^ _________________
