This is a discussion on the PET toys that are out there. Really, they are pretty sweet, especially since they get better with each version. (And role-playing with them is fun to)
So what PETs do you have? I've got the American Advanced PET and the Progress PET. (Both Protoman )
To those of you who have a Progress PET, do you know how to defeat Gyroman? I've been walking around the RPG and no matter where i go there is always a security gate. I'm stumped as to what to do. Also, I've finished all the tournaments so far. Unless I can get further with the RPG, the Progress PET will disappoint me. (But not as bad as the Advanced PET)
To those of you who have a Plug-In PET and a Link PET, how are they? The Link PET looks pretty sweet, I hope it can use Advanced PET Battle Chips. The Plug-In PET looks nice, how does it play? Better or worse than the Advanced?
There's even more to discuss, the battle chip boosters (or the battle chips themselves), the PET add-ons, the annoyance of the Advanced PETS shaking feature, and other things. But I'll leave it with this stuff for now. |

I believe I have the Advanced PET. I have about 45 chips, and it just got old. The design and the game really wasn't intended to last me as long as it did, and it was lacking in capabilities.
I had the Rockman model. _________________ I still need a picture |

I have the Plug-IN and Link PET's, both RockMan versions. The plug-in is definitely my favorite, espcialy since it comes with an alarm, and the game on it is pretty awesome. I think the only thing I don't like about it is that it drains the battery life out of it pretty quickly, especially if you use the alarm a lot. But, othe than that, it's really great; the music is awesome, and i love getting random emails and navi battles every so often. XD
The Link PET, to be honest, is quite boring; even battle is boring. Eh, it's pretty cool to look at, though.
I've never roleplayed with them, though. That sounds pretty awesome... But, then again, I've never met anyone else who actually owned a PET, heh. _________________ My art blog: http://annamariacoppi.blogspot.com/

"I've never roleplayed with them, though."
Yea, it is pretty fun. The time I remember I really role-played was when I was riding with my mo while she was doing errands. We went into a bank and I imagined the bank was under attack by viruses. I carefully pulled out the connection cord (for vs battle) and pretended to plug it in (I didn't know Advanced PETs could connect wireless). Now I waited till we returned to the car to find a virus. Imagine me shaking a PET vigorously in a bank (I'm a guy) That would certainly turn some heads... many heads... with some VERY odd stares.
Anyway, it's kind of fun to do it when you're in public. Except I don't have the guts to bring out my Advanced PET. But I'd have to try it with my Progress PET since it doesn't involve vigorous shaking. People would probably it's just some odd GB.
Anyway, I've got a question. Where is the best place to get Megaman merch from Japan? I'm looking for the first Battle Chip Gate and I do not trust Toys and Joys due to my hearing of its bad reputation. It would also be good if the stuff is not too expensive. |

I have... the Plug-In PETs (Netto & Enzan), Advanced PETs (Netto, Enzan & Forte), the Advanced PET 2 (Netto), and a Progress PET (Enzan).
I wanted the Link PETs but there was just too many different variations that would have been too expensive in the long run. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. When you go talk to them, it doesn't go so well." - Miyamoto

I've got the Advanced PET (Rockman), Advanced Chip Gate (4.5 Blues version), Progress PET (Blues and Forte Cross Rockman), Progress Chip Gate (Rockman and Colonel) and Link PET (Blues). And I have never once even tried playing the things... Basically just got them to own them, and for the battlechips. Well, I liked using the Gates to play 4.5, etc. But the PETs is what I meant I never played.
You don't really want me to list all my chips, do ya? My collection list takes up like five times the length of the first 5 posts in this thread. LOL I think I've got about 500 or so unique ones, not counting doubles.
As far as your question about where to buy PETs/gates/chips/etc., the easiest answers as always are either eBay, Japanese auction sites, chip seller FlashMan, or just hope somebody in this community will put things like that up for sale/trade in the near future...
You are right in avoiding Toys 'N Joys for those things. We've had threads about them before, but they aren't really good at updating what they have in stock anyhow. Just because the site currently says the item is available doesn't mean it really is, as I found out. But with many of these things, you might have to pay a little more to import them. Shipping overseas is not cheap, and sometimes the items themselves really are pricier than we'd pay in America. In general, you might have to be willing to pay more in order to get it. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II
