REO Nostalgia Thread!

After bumping something on the last page of one of the forums here (this was my first forum, after all), I started logging in less frequently, until to the point that I possibly just didn't care.

And when I started checking things out here from time to time, I noticed that perhaps, I wasn't the only one that "flew away."

In other words, this forum honestly ain't as active as it used to be. Has it been like this is it just our differing time zones?

First met everyone back in 2003 by chance really. After going to my first otakon in 2001 I wanted to really make a good costume when I went back in 2003 (I missed 2002 sadly) So I decided to make Bass.Exe and I wante to make it good. So Ota2003 comes along, I'm walking around in the dealer's room and I hear a yell of "BASS" I turn around and I see Miyuki. She introduced me to everyone and well, thats how I met all you wonderful people. And It was the greatest day of my life. For someone who has few friends he can hang out with at home. To see you guys every year, even if its for 3 days, means a lot to me. And I'm grateful to be a part of this family if you will.

Ah... Haven't been back here in forever.

I remember how I was such an idiot in the IRC chat. Last time I was here I was looking for people to play JUS with.

I guess I just left because I'm so used to using DJ Azure as my online name now.

I think I was also the one that started a little "Shark Soul" craze back then too, haha.

oh look I'm reviving a two-month-old thread

...the last time I was here, this thread would be on the sixth page by now. I still can't believe how much time I used to spend here - and how active the forums were. I feel that we were a very close community, as far as fandoms went; members knew each other's posting habits, made friends, shared stories - at least, I did. I was also a total arrogant bitch back then, but let's please to not get into that D:

I'm sad that the series is over and the fandom is mostly dying out, and I do miss being able to rant about EXE's little quirks (and certain wtf-inducing moments) and have people know what I was talking about. But I met a lot of people here I could consider friends, even now after five years, and I don't regret my time at REO.

and whoa, I can't believe I still REMEMBER R-G. That was, what, when I was in seventh grade?

At least the IRC channel has remained active. :) A lot of the regulars hang out there now.

Reminds me of how we've watched Sai grow up over the years. XD Man that was a big transition. I am happy that at least the group still gets together at Otakon every year. :3 and actually since we started hosting the huge Megaman panel there for the past two years, we've been even more involved (and I've submitted our application for this year's too!)

And my first otakon was...'05. That was pretty cool. And I was all short and stuff. And then nobody recognized me the year after! That was pretty funny. I need to rewatch EXE to get into it again. I dressed up as the Scout from TF2 the past year, so I need to get back into EXE. Razz
