Anybody has opinions on this game? I hear lots of gamers (especially boys) really loved the game. I got the game already, but I've yet to play it. I want to know before I waste about 6 hours playing it. _________________ As a Deviant, I work alone on my projects.

Well, I heard it's a great girl version of DMC. Plus, the character is the super hot librarian type so that always works. I will say nothing of the one handed super easy mode. |

To be honest, I found it...frustrating. There are two things you will end up doing about 75-80% of the time:
-button mashing
-quick-time events that involve button mashing
You mash buttons to do most combos, you mash buttons when you do the finishing moves, you mash buttons for most of the quick-time events (which, I might add, is the only way you end up doing any kind of significant damage to bosses)...I seriously stopped playing it because I didn't want to kill the buttons on my controller.
And it's cool watching Bayonetta pulling off so many crazy stunts, sure, but that's really all it is: you sit there, you watch her do her thing, and then you mash the X button when prompted. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

Well uhh... Firstly, there's plenty of ways to fight that involve far less button mashing than what you're describing. It can get you through the game for sure, but straight up button mashing 75-80% of the time will net you a pretty lousy score more often than not.
If it's really a big enough issue to stop you from playing, switch to Shuraba or Durga (the former of which you get very early and is almost impossible to miss) and focus on their charge attacks. Once you get the timing down, you can do massive damage with little mashing necessary.
And the button mashing in most QTEs is optional, it just nets you extra halos and has little to no bearing on the actual damage as far as I know. So it's safe to skip it in a lot of cases.
Anyhow great game, totally recommend it. Even coming from someone who doesn't especially like Devil May Cry it's one of the best I've played in recent memory. |
