Funimation has bought the rights for Dragon Ball Kai.

Although Funimation will call it Dragon Ball Z Kai.
Kai apparently means remastered or something like that in Japan, and since it is a remastering of DBZ, they called it DBZ Kai.

I just hope they keep the same Voice Actors and that they won't replace the original music with that of Bruce Faulcner(sp?).

Yeah. I'm not sure why they kept Kai but this is nice. Easier to watch the series without the filler and so many episodes of nothing.

Let's see:
DBZ US Cut: 276 episodes
DBZ US uncut/unedited/Japan = 291 episodes

DB Kai: 112 (what they said when they started).

so that is 179 episode length material down the drain (long powering up, garlic jr arc etc) Smile

Sounds great for all those Dragonball fans out there. I'm not into DBZ that much, but I might watch it if my cousins presuade me.

It is great, but I miss some of the old voices.

Stephanie Nadolny (kid Gohan/kid Goku) replaced by Colleen Clinkenbeard
Linda Young (Freeza) replaced by Christopher Ayres (She still does Freeza's laugh in ep 1 and she still fully does Fortune Teller Baba)
Dameon Clarke (Cell) replaced by Travis Willingham (who did Cell in DBZ Raging Blast)

I don't mind voice changes, as long as it isn't a main hero/villain/supporting char.
Anyone else would have been fine Sad
