No, the designs are NOT better than the original. Yes, they look good, but they are surely not better.

Craig McCracken (And Gendy Tartakofsky) had a very original and innovative style to making cartoons, which showed with every episode of their work. I think this is as bad an idea as "Loonatics" because it's just a transparent scheme by dying Anime company Toei to use other people's work as a crutch. 3 school-age girls who are vaguely based on an American series, who look like they walked right out of a Shojou anime>.>

Bubbles has bubbles.... very "clever"

Bound to get a good reception by the anime crowed for it's "OMG KAWAII SUGOI NEKO" factor, but that's just what the aim is. What's wrong with just making new episodes of the original show, it would cost less, and wouldn't be as pathetic, even if Chris Savino is directing.

Errr... why? Damn, I know that Americans can mess things up sometimes, but Americans did a pretty good job on the original cartoon. I remember being 11, that was about 5 years ago, and being the only guy I knew that actually watched PPG. I hope it never happens, it could only bring dispair.

Anyway, it seems... 'Meh' to me. I was never really a big fan of the PPG in general. << Although, I did have a bit of a feeling that something like this would come around. o.o

I do admit, this looks kinda messed up to me.
But, the characters DO look cooler than before, and now they have weapons straight out of Phantasy Star Online and Monster Hunter!

And I also noticed Buttercup looks like that blue haired army girl in King of Fighters. (I never play her so I don't know the name) Blossem looks like the typical anime girl with a yo-yo. And Bubbles.... don't get me started.... >_<

Well, even if it does come. I never really watched this show in the first place so I don't really care. I would care if, they at least didn't make the Proffesser look like a freaking Seta clone, only less tanned and MUCH younger.
