Hey Guys Sdaz here. I've been working out stuff and I've decided to use RPGMaker 2003 to make a Battlenetwork esque rpg for all of us to enjoy. It'll feature Zero.exe in the title role, taking on a group of Rouge Netnavis dubbed the Mavericks, attemptng to "Liberate" The net from the humans. Everything will all occur inside the net (so no seeing the real world in this) and due to the limitations of RPGMaker I'll have to make adjustments with how battlechips and stuff are handled. It wont be ready by Otakon (Maybe a demo, depends how motivated I can get myself) but hopefully I'll have it ready by the next Otakon for everyone to check out and enjoy.
What I have planned out so far is this.
A. Battlechips are gonna be handled as Magic spells giving I'm using an RPGMaker program, this is explained in game by Zero having to install Battlechip data to a weapon systems program he utilizes since he's a Solo Netnavi, thus he does not have access to a netop with a chip Folder. Once a chip is installed, you can use the chip whenever at a cost of weapon Energy. All Chips will be use in Battle only (Including the recoveries).
B. I may implement a Class System of some kind that gives Zero different advantages and Disadvantage in combat, I cant directly affects Battle chip damage but Paramaters and resistances I can do.
C. NetNavi chips, no can do, again cause of Limitations (that and I suck at making new battle animations), Instead Zero will acquire a Navi's Special weapon (Which is cycled to a seperate menu when in combat, for organization) in a nod to the classic Megaman games. I'm planning maybe 10 Navis for the game, though I'm gonna have to use whatever graphics I can to represent them.
D. Program Advances will be in this, but since you cant do chip combos in battle, i've decided to make them one shot consumables you can acquire via trade. They will be extremely powerful, and so there will be a limit to what you can carry, which will help create stratagies (Since theres a limit to what PA's you can activate depending on the chips in your folder).
E. An exploration system similiar to Castlevania titles post Symphony, such as save rooms and warp rooms for quick travel around the net. Save rooms representing the dangers of being a Solo Navi on the net, unable to jackout to the safety of a PET, etc etc. In this instance the net will be a large place with many secrets to be found, There will be Undernet access, and every Net location will have a Warp point to one of the game's Levels.

Okay...I do wanna do a class system but...what can I do? Any suggestions? I was thinking setting up Classes with unique skills attached to them, but you sacrifice your special weapons. What do you guys think? _________________ "Dont insult the Fanny Pack! Real NetNavis wear FannyPacks"
