Well, granted half of the time, a sub-liker (don't laugh, that's what I'm calling them) only likes subs because it's what they started with, likewise with dub-likers. And then you have the other half of the time, the ones that started with subs but like dubs, and likewise again. Then you have everyone else.

But on the abridged series, it might be dependent on what version you're abridging, in relation to what the viewers. If it was chosen, we could abridge Rockman.EXE, which was really popular, or we could abridge NT Warrior, which was shunned by most everyone that was an anime fan. (Personally, I think it would be kind-of nice to abridge both .EXE and NT Warrior in the same series, by using jokes from both versions to try and appeal to all sides. Heck, if we wanted to, we could try something with the storylines of the anime and games. (Because I know for sure that there's a group of .EXE fans that are sad that the brother idea for Rockman and Netto wasn't kept in the anime.))

Either way, it's all up to whoever abridges the series to decide what happens, what jokes are used, and what version we abridge. (Speak now if I went too far or if I didn't answer a question.)

It's the voices I'd be worried about, not the storyline you pick from.

The voices? That's understandable, actually.

But what exactly is it about the voices that has you worried? Is it sounding close to the original version, or that they won't sound like the character when recording?

That they'll be hard to listen to. Unfortunately, I don't think there are enough really good burgeoning voice actors and actresses around here.

But like I said earlier, I'd still like to see an abridged series project. Just find some really good voices. XD

Yeah, that is a problem. But, luckily for us, there's several abridged series that have good voice actors and actresses. As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, I saw one VA on here. But I'm not sure that it was who I thought it was. And opinions of VAs differ from viewer to viewer.

Oh, speaking of abridged on the previous page....my friend and I wanted to do a Steam fandub XD. but we have no time ^^;
ah well. I still made a guitar version of "Ashiato" I just need to record it. XD

I actually have a friend that would be willing to do an abridged project, but I don't know whether she's on here or not. I also don't have the time to do an abridged project so.....

I'll oppose to an abridged project. There's only so much you can do before you might tire yourself out. Considering that you also have to write the scripts for each episode, but coordinate voice acting and sound direction, there's a lot of room where it can just fall flat and be completely unfunny. If I recall, there was an EXE abridged some time ago, but I believe the general consensus was that it wasn't very good. Then again memory tends to skew things for the worse \o/

I think a podcast is do-able. Chibis/avatars don't have to be lip synced. Check out some of the BlazBlue Radios for instance. The problem is finding source material to talk about, which is extremely difficult since most podcasts tend to go on about new stuff.

But I've never listened to a podcast before, so I'm not sure on how the BlazBlue Radios work.

We'll, I'd suggest rebooting the group fanfic, since that was pretty fun, but that would be an exercise in futility.

OtaRockman is just the unofficial name we give to the gathering every year, there's no set roster of members. It's more of a tradition than anything else. :) We had a really impressive turnout this year!

I would only do cosplay of characters that have full or at least partial face masks. At least at first. That's a possible though.
