They have translucent clay? That would be nice.

Whether or not it looks impressive, it took goddamn forever to get this pose up. Unglued ball joints are difficult beasts. :|

Also, Searchman/R-Searchman's armor designer needs to be shot. With his anime armor design, there is physically no way he should be able to bend his legs or move his feet. Who the hell puts horizontal rings around knee joints?

(Need to change: torso piece is too large and needs to be completely redone, forearms need to be shorter, feet and leg armor should be thicker/wider, add helmet antenna needs to be attached without BREAKING somehow

Also, different hands for holding things and weaponry.)

For the antenna, I suggest a bit of wire. You can just poke a hole, and wiggle it around before firing. If it's already hardened, resin glue. If it has to be thicker, you can always cover that in an air-dry clay, then glue it on.

Malik - I used a rolled-up bit of aluminum foil for the first try, actually. It broke off at the base below the foil. Second try'll probably stick on as long as I'm careful with it.

Anyway, this is the finished, uncolored R-Searchman - I redid his torso armor, added kneecaps, fixed the general sizes of limbs and body parts, and took a picture in much, much better lighting than the previous shot. His hands are badly shaped - this isn't much of a problem since I intend to make multiple-position hands anyway, and replace them as necessary.

I actually wonder if I should have made a few molds of his body parts and the like before I started painting, but unless I intend to sell more R-Searchman figures - and who would buy them? - that probably wouldn't be worthwhile. Besides, it's not like I know how to do resin casti...

...or should I learn?

Depends on how much the joints+clay+time for each figure cost, although at the moment it'd just be a theoretical cost since I don't actually *have* molds. Joints are about $12, and each figure takes roughly three packs of clay, which is $9, add on a time cost and shipping and you're looking at around $40, about $8 of which is shipping. Not really worth it, unless I can figure out ways to make these for cheaper.

Hmm, yea, you're right. Not really feasible.

Just makes these all the more awesome and unique though.

Maybe once the BN7 drive gets off the ground, I'll commission one from you for a prize!

Saito: Will think about it, but that totally depends on the prize. >__>

Anyway: done. R-Searchman is now colored, though missing his visor - but since transparent orange stuff is kinda hard to find, I'm not worrying about it. I'll be making other hands, guns, swords, and accessories sometime in the future, and put up pictures accordingly, but now it's definitely time for a break from sculpting.

I'll add different poses and angles later, if more people want to see.

Actually, I meant I'd pay you to make one to give away as a prize. XD

This is just speculation at this point though. Cool

Painted model is awesome!

Wow. That is good. It looks like a real figure minus the... slick coating.
Very impressive. But how would other hands work?
