No idea if a thread like this exists already, but I'm recently in a very musical mood, so I was wondering.

Are there musical people here?

I come from a very musical family with both a father and grandfather skilled in playing musical instruments. Dad is a pianist/piano teacher and grandpa used to play organ and accordeon and loved to sing. Mom used to play the cello and recorder/flute and my bro had a short interest in playing guitar.

Myself, I've played the violin for twelve years, I sing almost every day and recently picked up an interest in playing the harmonica/mouth organ. I've also sung in some amateur musicals as part of a choir.

So what about you guys? Any music-fevers around?

I may not be musically inclined, but I do appreciate a good performance.

I'm an absolute sucker for anything piano, though. Razz

I used to be part of an orchestra. I was not the best player, but I was good enough to help my school win 2 competitions out of state. I played the viola, a not-so known instrument in orchestra. I loved it because nobody else wanted to play with it.

Oh a viola Smile My violin teacher plays that instrument too. It seems kind of tricky to play (like a bigger violin XD), but the sound is very nice.

It does have potential, but people seem to neglect using it. It is almost like a guitar and a bass guitar, but not as severe.

I'm glad at least SOMEBODY plays it other than myself.

Well, what can I say. I learned some piano but lost interest quickly; played ¿ bass for a band, didn´t last too much as I dind't have much free time.

I have an Harmonica, bit I'm still trying to learn how to play it.

Anyway, music interest me a lot, so I'll see what I can learn in the future

Harmonicas are tricky, aren't they? I got a professional instrument, but I'm learning through trial and error mostly and memorizing tunes by ear. If I don't drop down from lack of oxygen, that is XD;

Yeah, that's the same experience for me, I still can't control all the breathing stuff and learning by ear the tunes

I'm hesitant to share the instruments I play. Shocked

It's all by ear though.

I freakin love music.

Way back ages ago I taught myself to play some music on the piano for chorus in high school (only for when the teacher was absent and we had no one to play the piano - I learned it by ear and the fact my grandmother could play the piano like no one's business probably helped, too even though I never had any instruction on playing it,) but since I never kept it up, I've basically lost most of that skill. However (unless I'm sick) I can still sing. That I've never lost. I've just lost most of the upper soprano range in exchange for the middle (and the exact term is failing me now - stupid illness) but I think it's bass is the lowest. I know it goes soprano, alto (where they had me, even though I sang soprano when I wasn't sick or tenor when I was sick because any throat problems drops my voice down into the tenor range,) and I think bass is the lowest. If not, please correct me Confused

But yeah, I love to sing. Always have, always will Smile

I am not musically trained but I do make music. It basically sounds like dubstep in a house's lounge with some hip hop in the fridge if you want some, lol.

If you do a search for "FRSH+BTS" and "the Wibby", you'll find my official site, Facebook, and page on Last.fm.
