Otakon 2011 - Pull the Fire Alarm!

Hoolay! I'm going to go ahead an start up the official thread for Otakon 2011 here, so I can keep track of my room list. Peeps are starting to ask how much they need to set aside for the room so here ya'll go.

To sugoi sukafu, we are usually limited to 5 people per room each year. Since you were a last minute addition last year due to a shuffling in peeps and confusion, I have you as a reserve for this year. Let me know if you're interested and if anyone backs out of either room, you'll be first in line for that spot.

I will begin taking room payments by paypal starting June 1st, and no earlier. I'm paid from my freelance business by paypal and don't want to get all my funds mixed up earlier than necessary. ^^; Once you pay for your spot you are locked in, with no refunds, so make sure you are absolutely positive you're coming. It's no fun when I get stuck paying for an empty spot.

haha, yeah we were in the hotel room too when it happened last year. We saw everyone streaming out into the streets and we were like "Is the con over?", hah... so as the saying now goes, "Con's over, pull the fire alarm!"

I just learned that the Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy is making a stop in Baltimore on Saturday night during Otakon. I have been trying to see this concert for years and don't want to pass up this opportunity. Tickets are around $38 along with probably a few bucks for a taxi. Would anyone else be interested in joining me?

Hecxz, the entire row behind us is still open. :3 So far the group attending includes myself, Nobi, Pyo, Izu, Eric (Izu's friend), Em, Scarab, Red and LBD.

I already told my manager that my hotel and tickets were paid for back in March so that I could have the time off... and he bought it. So no snafu this year Smile

I would hope that Otakon would have some kind of transportation to the Meyerhoff for the event, but sign me up. I saw them last year/2 years ago when they came in and it was amazing. Next pay check I'll try to see what's going on for tickets. I know some of my friends were thinking about going to it too, so I have to see where they're sitting in relation.

OK... just paid for my flight. And Ryo, count me in on the FF Symphony. I've been wanting to go to something like this for ages, but I can never catch Video Games Live when theyre in town (and im in Orlando, for cryin out loud! EVERYTHING comes here!).

From the looks of it, I managed to snag a seat behind the main group.

Don't forget! If you haven't pre-reg, the $65 rate is cut off on June 4th, and the last day to pre-reg is July 16 (which the rate will be $75) booooo!

Sucks that Bit-Gen is the same weekend in Baltimore and The Protomen are going to be there *sigh*, wish they would play at Otakon one year!

I am going to begin taking confirmations and room payments for our Otakon rooms for this year. I have at least two people waiting to hear if there are any open spots (right now there isn't unless someone drops out), so I'd like to get this started a bit early this year. You are not obligated to pay until July 1st or around then.

Our current list is in the first post of this thread, as well as the price.

If you could at least confirm with me on whether or not you are -sure- you are joining us again this year, that would be helpful. Thank you!
