It depends on what language I refer to. If I use EXE, then I will use Japanese names, but when I use NTW/BN, I will use English names. And I only refer to the English names when I use NTW.
Although I learned about the English names first than the Japanese ones, I grew up with using the originals since they sounded better X3 _________________ Signature here, signature there. |

(I'm sorry for for the necroposting, but I just wanna put my input in... :3 Don't gun me down....)
I guess it's a matter of what version I use when I'm either explaining the series to people or whether it's an inside joke/conversation with another .EXE fan. Most times I use the dub names like Lan and Chaud because that's what most unfamiliar people are able to be familiar with, I guess. (Aside from the small Afro-Chaud fanbase on Court-Records. XD) There are some times that I use the Japanese names when I'm referring to non-dubbed episodes or talking to fans that might not know about the American/Canadian dub names.
There are a few names that I'm alright with (Lan, Chaud, Maylu, Maddy, Maysa), namely because they're the names I'm used to, and then there's some names that I differentiate between (Tesla Magnus/Magnets, Princess Pryde/Pride), because I'm not used to the alternate spellings yet.
I'm not sure how I feel on the NetNavi names, though. Sure, the Aquaman/Spoutman change was because of Aquaman the failed superhero (my bad), and the Napalmman change was for decency's sake, but why the Colorman/Coloredman/Wackoman name change happened, I'm not sure. Maybe it's because of the word "colored/color"? (Could be mistake as racial, I guess.) But in his case, I think I prefer Wackoman over Colorman. Megaman/Rockman I switch between because I'm used to both of them, Protoman/Blues, I really could care less, and I use Bass more than Forte, but I do mispronounce Bass a lot, even in my head.
To each their own, though. :3 _________________ "Well, at least I'm not the only one with a crush on a eleven year old." "But isn't your crush dead-" "BUT THERE'S ALWAYS HIS 'FAHJA'!" "You're stupid." "And you're a walking contradiction!" "So are you!!" "DAMN STRAIGHT~!!!" |

Personally, I prefer the original names. I just think some of them sound cuter than the dubbed names
(I probably should've put this up sooner, but I saw this just now and wanted to say something) |

Cuter? That makes sense. Netto does sound cuter than Lan. XD Then again, Tory kind-of sounds cuter than Tohru, and Yai and Yaito...... I have no idea. Maylu sounds cute too, but so does Meiru at the same time.
(Eh, it's been a dead topic for a while, so I posted in it just to give a little life to it. XD) _________________ "Well, at least I'm not the only one with a crush on a eleven year old." Majority wins! I'll go for the Original Japanese ones because for me (no offense), the English names are so... tacky... _________________ FoodmanEXE aka IceKun
