I get emails from eBay every now and then, informing me of new deals, eBay Bucks, and a bunch of other things I don't care about. However, I was notified of a seller that has *3* plug-in PETs for sale. I am not sure how long he will have them for, but I figured I would let you all know, in case you happen to have $165 laying around.

I just got a (fantastic) new job, so I'll be able to afford one come January.

Just be aware these are not the original Japanese issued PETs, but rather the re-issue version featured in Taiwan (I think it was Taiwan...). You can tell because the logo actually says "Rockman.EXE" on it, rather than the actual Japanese lettering.

Oh man, I had no idea. Damn!

What are the differences between the Taiwan and Japanese versions?

Not much, really. XD They did re-issues of several of the toys, if I remember correctly. I just don't know how much that affects the actual value if you're a collector.

Nah, I'm just crazy enough to tinker around with things and see if I can retrofit a Palm Pre in there, lol. Also, for awesome nostalgia sake.

OT: I've been slacking on my fan-site, but I finally got an awesome (steady hours) job, so I focus on it. On the plus site, my web developments and design skills have improved immensely since my last update on Hikari Labs.

Dang, out of my waste-money-on-whatever-I-want budget range. Let us know how retrofitting new devices into it works. Always wanted to do that!

I finally got myself a PET! I have wanted one of these ever since I beat MMBN1 on Christmas 2001. The battlechips are a lot smaller than I expected, and the instruction booklet looks like it was translated word-for-word from Japanese, so a lot of things don't make sense. Still, I managed to set the time, date, and my birthday.

Even though it doesn't work as a real PET would, it feels neat to go into your abg and pull it out to find out what time it is.

Now I have to figure out how to get components to try and make a real-life PET (sans NetNavi) and load a customized Linux distro on it. Aww yeeeeeah!! I'll be doing this research on the side, I'd like to get my other BN projects done first.

I've been cruising eBay again to find more PETs and found this guy (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-ROCKMAN-EXE-PLUG-PET-BLUE-JAPAN-VERSION-capcom-8-chips-/320899775488), who has 5 available, for $50 each with free shipping. Every other listing is at least $100, so this may be your only chance if you've always wanted one.
