Otakon 2012: 10th Anniversary!

It's hard to believe, but the first gathering of OtaRockman begin in 2002! 10 years of absolute fun and insaneness. :D I'm super excited for this year! As usual, I have my two rooms at the Days Inn:

Payment is $125, sent to my paypal a fefnir@gmail.com. This cover you for the whole weekend. :) I need all payments submitted by July 20th! If this doesn't work for you, please send me an e-mail (same as above) and we can work something out. :)

I don't think there is an official site for the program, it's being hosted by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and being produced by the founder of the Eminence Symphony Orchestra from Australia (they performed at Otakon a few years ago and were amaaziiing). But I like the fact that it's going to include music from both anime AND games. :3

(need to get my costume done too @_@ @_@ @_@)

Hilariously, I'll actually be closer to Otakon this summer than I've ever been before, but still a couple hours' drive away with no car. $120 per room is also kind of difficult to justify for a college student...

Nanze: $120 is not bad for 4 nights at a Hotel next to a convention center by the harbor. Trust me, it's wayyyyy worse!

Indeed, I'll make sure to get you some payment by then. I haven't made any arrangements on Airfare or Registration.

Still waiting to hear from LBD if I need to Register or not if I'm going to be a Panelist this year.

....and I'm tempted to Drive to this year Otakon in my new (slightly used ok...) 2009 Toyota Yaris. But we will see, I normally arrange everything by the end of May anyways.

Though, if I become a Panelist, I will be seeking someone who is willing to film the panel. I will provide them with the camera/tripod to film. It's not hard at all, trust me Razz

Right now, I'd say its a 50/50 chance of me going, primarily due to available money. The restaurant enters the slow season for the summer, and I scramble to make ends meet.

However, my birthday is July 18th, so maybe some miracle can happen by then. I can't guarantee the costume to be done, however. I don;t know where my motivation went trying to get this thing done. I'm rather upset and embarassed. ._.;

As for camera-guy, I'd be happy to help should I make it. Smile

Yeah... I'm gonna have to cancel myself for the con this year officially. Money just isn't coming in as I'd like it to, as well as other reasons.

I'm scheduled to staff quite a few cons in Florida this year, so it's not a total loss, but I miss you guys. Sad

On another note, I saw on Facebook from LBD that the panel was not approved this year. Confirm/deny?
