Borrowed the main site banner for the sole purpose of this topic. Likewise for the Dekaranger: 10 Years After logo.
Ten years have passed since Rockman.EXE Online became a place for us to call home (and even longer for the main site, apparently). How has everyone's lives changed? What are you up to these days? Anything exciting to report?
Feel free to include pictures with your post. We've all changed greatly in ten years. Some of us don't even have the slightest resemblance of ourselves.
----------------------------------------------
Everyone here remembers me best for being a huge Shun fan and being the author of Rockman.EXE: The College Years.
Since then, I've started working my dream job of doing writing for video games. It's a small independent company, but I'm happy doing what I like. I continue to write in my spare time, but I've moved onto writing my very first novel. I'll occasionally still post a fanfic every now and again.
I've also been dating the most amazing man to have ever come into my life since March 2013 and just last Christmas I proposed to him and he said yes. So now we're engaged! I'm in the process of filing for immigration into the USA and we're planning to have our wedding in August 2017.
All in all, I'd have to say that my life is on track and I'm really happy.

Times certainly have changed a lot! When I first started REO, I was a college student and worked part time at Hallmark. Since then, I've moved from Texas all the way up to Wisconsin. Nobi-chan and I bought a house together last year, and got married in April of this year. :) I work part time in a photo lab but spend most of my time freelancing as a photo retoucher. Love it!
I wish I had more time for REO, but real life has progressed and I just don't have it anymore. But it still has a special place in my heart~ <3 _________________ "Cats are interesting. I joined in 2003.
The forum is still my homepage, despite my absolute lack of interest in any of this BS anymore.
Not much else is different. |

Cloud-kun, your account says you joined in '05. Were you using a different account then?
I joined in late 2005 (if my profile is correct), and I was in high school then. After a failed stint in college and working really crappy jobs, I taught myself design and development, got an internship somehow, and started getting better and better.
Now, I am working at an awesome job doing IoT stuff, and trying to start several businesses/projects in my spare time. Still have love for BN, and am trying to make that world a reality in any way I can. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

My profile says I joined in 2008, but I'm PRETTY sure I knew about/lurked on the main part of the site before then... I remember looking at the manga scans, just WAITING for the next english volume to come out so I could run over to the book store, buy it, and read them.
So I was still in high school.
Now I've finished art school, and I work at a toy company. I do packaging and illustrations for Disney princess dolls. I create art for a living, and I love it. That's all I've ever wanted to do since I could remember, and I've become successful (at least to me) at it: I pay my own bills, I live on my own, and I LOVE working on Disney princess stuff.
I've been trying to get back into playing video games more like I used to... Kinda stopped in college because of ALL the work I had to do. Now I have a bit more control over my personal life's schedule, so it's a bit easier to do stuff like that. Also helps that my coworker is really into comics and games, so she gets to remind me how fun it is to geek out about something.
My cousin just randomly lent me Star Force 2, insisting it's the best one in the series, so I'm playing that right now. I know that's not exactly BN, but it does cross my mind every once in awhile. It's a great story to just go back to after a year or so and get right back into it.
I've still actually never played BN1...
BN's one of the few series that still holds my interest since first playing it. Every time some new tec comes out, I feel like we're getting closer and closer to having actual navi's, and that gets me excited! But, maybe that's just wishful thinking... _________________ My art blog: http://annamariacoppi.blogspot.com/

I've been following your art progress on dA, but I never knew you worked on packaging for Disney! That's awesome. Getting to follow your dreams at such a young age is awesome.
You definitely have to play BN1! I had to have the original packaging, so I bought it on eBay for ~$50 a few years ago. A bit pricey but hey, it was in good condition. I'm sure you can find it for cheaper. Or, you can get yourself a Wii U and buy it from the eShop! _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

lessee... profile claims June 2009, that'd be one year after graduation and into college. which I left one year afterwards, worked another year or two, then tried college again with no results and currently looking for a job.
yes I know, I'm a mess.
I've never lost interest in MMBN or SF (still waiting for BA/RJ anime here, Capcom!), and I still lurk the WPP tracker to see if there are new episodes.
I've kinda dropped 3D, and still do some SVG from time to time, and lately I've been working on a NetNavi themed series of Android figures (I'll post about them later )
I've even worked on some en2it translations, both as fansubber and for a videogame.
the whole time I've been away from the forum it was because I've been accidentally locked out of the board after trying to change the mail address "-_-
from time to time I go at a little cosplay event here in Cagliari, and last year I've been in Lucca too! :D
@wibby: still waiting for your OS, the concepts looked great back then
@linkfreak: I've took a peek at your official works, very nice indeed!
@cloud-kun congrats to you as well for marrying! _________________ Sardinia is not Italy!

Haha, the direction of it kinda changed and I'm working with a guy I met online to re-imagine what it means to use an OS. Needless to say, it's taking a bit longer than expected. The winter months tend to be my most productive though, so there may be updates in the coming months. (:
I've restarted work on the web browser I was working on too, and ohmygod the code is terrible. I really should make it in the style of the new OS, actually...responding to you gave me a new idea about direction. Thanks! _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

Hm.. I'm not sure if this forum changed anything for me. I joined rather late in the process, and honestly only came by for Lan & Lyne, eheh..
I had my own communities in which I hung around, and REO was never really one of my main communities. Hence why even now my post count is at a measly 8.. well, 9 after this post.
Forums where I've been active in I usually hit the thousand in the first year, ahahaha.. ^_^;;;; _________________

I've never heard of that before, but 1) it sounds awesome and 2) I hope it enables you to design a SciLabs-like building with awesomesauce. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

Whoa holy crap. 10 years? March 05 sometime after High School. Maybe some time during a college attempt. How about that.
Yes, glad to hear about everyone. I remember this place when the series was going on. Yes, watching the series on TV or subbed. While I only got the DS port of BN5, I did enjoy the series and the games. I also played that Gamecube port. That was pretty fun. And I have BCC on the Wii U. That's different.
Anything different with me? I did finish college and get a few jobs. But I'm around. Shame Megaman isn't. ...Unless you play Smash Bros or Mario Maker. But we have Mighty #9 (when ever it comes out) and Azure Striker Gunvolt. That game is fun and has good music. It's more like X, Zero, or ZX then normal Megaman or the others.
I still come here every month. Just to check. Let's hope one day Megaman come back. |

Er, the forums and main site were originally hosted on Ryo's domain, and everything on the forums had to reset when it was switched over to rockman-exe.com!
Man... I joined early 2003 and I was literally 12 years old staring into a strange new frontier. My how things have changed, but at the same time, remained the same. _________________

Oh wow, I never knew that! Haha, that's cool. I was 15 and just starting high-school! Man I miss this place.
A few days ago, I created a Slack channel at https://mmbn.slack.com, but I haven't done anything with it yet. I want to get my portfolio redesign finished before I promote it though. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

Sometimes I pine for 10 years ago when I was a two years out of highschool college student and BN was in it's heyday and I hung out with you guys.
Unfortunately time moves on and I mostly stopped coming here as with Megaman mostly dead there's not much left holding me here.
But I'll never forget those good days. It was a blast, and hell I'd come right back if somewhere somehow BN or SF became alive again. |
