Hold the phone, where did "Masa Sakanaya" come from? I thought Masa has gone this far without a last name. Are you sure you're not just mistaking his title as a name? Sakanaya should just be his job, not his name.
As for Meijin Eguchi, Masakazu Eguchi is the real Mr.Faamous's name. So "Eguchi" need not necessarily translate to something about the character. |

In the episode "Commander Beef VS Netto-kun", the name on Masa's dressing room right before the battle starts is "Sakanaya Masa". _________________

Fish vendor is more appropriate. Not that I'm being THAT picky, but I just mean he's not calling himself a building =P Not to mention the word "sakanaya" existed before they had buildings and stuff. Blah.
Anyway, Azureman, some of your translations are right on, but some are right not on. You need to go by the kanji meanings more than just tossing the words into a dictionary. Enzan certainly means flame mountain, not operation. |

I can't read kanji. -_-;
And I said in my first post in this thread that some of my translations were most likely wrong. _________________

Gonna revive this thread. You know how last time I said I wasn't going to even tackle the virus names because there were too many of them and several of them didn't even seem to make sense? Well, I'm going to tackle at least one of them right now, and possibly more as they come up.
Furoshuru, the IronShield virus. What's this name composed of? At first I thought it was supposed to be "Full Shell", but that doesn't seem likely now. Is there a Japanese word similar to Furoshuru and if so, what's the translation? I'm putting some of these in a fanfic, and I don't want to call them Furoshuru unless I know why. |

Actually, I think Chamush is more than a pun.
Cha - From "Chairo", meaning Brown
and Chamush's lv 2 and 3 forms are Kimush and Kuromush.
Ki - Yellow
Kuro - Black
So the viruses would be
Chamush = Brown Mushroom
Kimush = Yellow Mushroom
Kuromush = Black Mushroom
And I think the Parara, Paraball, Paralike, and Paracrosser viruses are more than likely named as puns for parabolic radar. _________________

Hardy har har.
Isn't "Iro" just used to denote that you're talking about color? I think in casual speech, you would just say "Ki" instead of "Kiiro". But then again, maybe it depends on how the individual speaks.
Parabolic radar are used in long-range transmissions, usually placed at the top of a tall structure for maximum range. _________________

A lark is either a type of songbird, or it can also mean something enjoyable. Other than that, I'm stumped. _________________
