Maybe you should stop being an elitist; in my opinion, the forum is perfectly fine with all members being equal. _________________ Greatness is achieved through the pursuit of greatness. |

Yeah, it probably wouldn't be a good to turn this into an Animal-farm type thing
"All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others."
Yeah, that uh...never ends well. Soon the elites begin to thinnk themselves superior, and pick on the newbs, and...yeah, just not good. |

The reason why the admins and mods have those mark things below their names is so new and old people can instantly recognize them as admins or mods.
Other than that, I don't think we'd need a so-called "elite" to tell everyone this member's better than you just because he signed up earlier or he did something different.
Which is also why we don't use the option of usergroups. _________________

That would be the equivalent of "normal person the admins don't want to eat", I would guess. Since it's proper forum edicate that all members act this way, lest it become one of those stupid ass troll-spammed proboards or something. Hell, it might even be like Gamefaqs if we let it go :<
And if you're aware of your idiotic actions, why not try to prevent them instead of obviously bragging about it? ¬¬ |

...why the hell would we want that? Some people would rather be a normal user rather than be an elite. _________________

I can understand the idea of patting someone on the back for following the rules, but this just doesn't seem like the right way to do so.
I'd think that calling someone an 'elite' would just cause tension. _________________

People shouldn't need to be patted on the back for following rules, IMO. It's mandatory, no? <.< That is why they're called rules, and why people get banned for not obeying them. :< |

Very true.
Hey, NOT being banned means that you're an elite, doesn't it! _________________

Why have an award for those that follow all the rules and don't spam, sometimes if you give someone an award it goes to their head and they end up doing something stupid that lands them in trouble, since they start thinking they are above the others. I've seen this and so have others as well, there was even an incident where one member accused me of unfair treatment after I gave a warning to a member that in one thread was supportive of me and then in another thread broke a rule.
The only reason for the icons under the administrators and moderators names are to identify those members to new and old users, since some might have trouble actually reading things. There might be an argument in a thread or something with a group of new members, and when an admin or mod post telling them to stop the person committing the act could say "Who the **** is this ********* person telling me what to do" and end up making things worse for themselves and others. The icon's I guess you could liken to a police badge, because you have to admit that most people that see a badge listen to that person.
Everyone on this forum is considered equal, meaning that there is no elite title or anything like that. I've seen people that have joined as new members that are highly intelligent and follow the rules and then those that need improvement and slowly learn. Putting a reward system in would be unfair as some will be new members and would get the little elite tag while those that have been here and still improving would be envious, sparking a conflict on the board, and I think we all can agree that conflict is not good. |

I think an award for being an active poster and following the rules is getting to stay on this forum. I think that is enough. So basically... We don't need an elite group. |

It's just like that suggestion in the old forum for a "mature section."
I'd put up a few points, but they have either already been said, or I can't remember that point from the old forum. _________________ Net navis are like imaginary friends. The only difference is that you don't get weird looks for talking to them. |

Indeed. By instituiting such a title, we now have castes on the message boards, and caste systems usually mean trouble. It also means that people of "higher" status can begin to oppress the lower members of the board. We then have an aristocratic situation, much like GameFaq's message boards.
I don't care about titles. All I want is an open forum for discussion where I will not be forcibly ejected for differing in opinion. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Aside from the bit about posting a lot, everyone should be doing that anyway. Common sense != elite. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away and have their shoes. |

Haa...you are so close. <_<
Like others've said, common sense is the best judgement. No need for ranks to actually back THAT up, right? <_<
