Legend of the Five Rings

Is there anybody around here who plays this, either the RPG or CCG? I know I made this thread on the old forum and got almost no replies, so I'm trying it again, just in case we've managed to accumulate a few players since then. :P

If you're wondering what Legend of the Five Rings is, let me first state that no, it has nothing to do with Lord of the Ring. >_> It's a collectable card game (CCG) based on various oriental cultures, like Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Indian to name a few. The setting is a fictional empire called Rokugan. It is a feudal setting of war involving samurai, bushi, oni, and ninja... as well as a political battlefield filled with magistrates, courtiers, and conspiracy.

It is a fun game with 3 separate ways to win:
Military victory - Destroy the other player's provinces
Honor vistory - begin a turn with 40 family honor
Enlightenment - Get all five of the elemental ring into play (omg, name of the game)

Anywho... I'm just curious if anybody plays, or if anybody here has at least heard of the game.

Hmmm you almost threw me. I almost thought you were talking about Miyamoto Musashi's book "The Five Rings."

Anyways no I haven't played that, nor have I heard of it actually. Although by what you've said it sounds like Risk... or Dynasty Warriors.

Still it sounds very interesting even if I'm not really into card games. Maybe I'll check it out.

I had 5 of the card's out of a Magizine once. I gave one away, lost two and had the other two set on fire. I never understood how to play the game, even after reading some guide on it

Haha, so you either lose, give away, or burn anything you don't like? I've never heard of this game, maybe I'll check it out sometime.
