Opinion on Forte/Bass *Might contain Spoilers*

I know that this might be a stupid question, but I'm going to make this short and simple. What do all of you think of Forte/Bass? I mean, give me anything that you have on you mind about the Black Shadow in the Rockman Exe series (Manga or Anime). And I mean, anything!! It might help me with a story that's in development. Well, later!

I like forte. His background story is really sad. It's on the main site as a manga version and I read it. *sniffles* I don't know if anyone read it yet so I'll label it as a spoiler.

[spoil:a5d9ed193e]It's so sad that the people he trusted wanted to get rid of him because he was too strong!! I mean, they could've done soemthing better like use his get ablity to help them out. But no, they go and try to delete him and they used a really strong navi. When they battled, forte got a battle wound, that being that scar, and he used his get ability to get tha attack that scared him and shoot it right back at the navi. [/spoil:a5d9ed193e]

Forte is highly overrated.

"The Black Shadow" was Forte's nickname in the manga...at least it was in the english version.

Nigma, you could also put in your two cents about him you know.

Well, I got to say that Forte is a cool character and the reason why is that he sort of reminded me of one of my favorite game characters of SEGA: Shadow the Hedgehog. The two of them are both powerful and are quiet unless you talk to them first. They also have rivals with the color blue. Although there is a major difference. Shadow was able to see the error of his ways through the words of a person while Forte has to be knocked right on the head to get some sense into him. Well, later!

Sonic is basically like every anime. Well, Dragonball and Rockman only come to mind... but I'll find more, maybe.

I don't know maybe it's me, but Forte is a bit... well... overrated in the EXE anime, isn't he? Wait, before you all flame me, let me argue my case.

We start with his first appearance. He's black and gold, with a youthful face and he deosn't talk. In other words, the typical fangirl idol. Then he fights Freezeman. Freezeman throws icicles at him, and even freezes him on the spot and in retaliation Forte... makes a... building... float... Wow Forte, you showed him. I mean sure, it takes power to make a building float, but is it really getting his point across? Couldn't a punch in the gut have done the same? Then he goes and tries to absorb Gospel, and he doesn't even do that right either and ends up getting himself absorbed. Good for you Forte.

He goes through all of Axess and he only appears at the end, only to, as far as I know, bring shademan back. He did something else, but I don't remember. What a waste. Then in Stream he fights both Rock and Blues and supposedly owns them both. Finally he does something cool. Then he goes and gets whipped by Slur. Not very impressive.

Now I've played the games, and I like Forte there because he had the ego and he was proactive. You could actually read his character. In the anime, he just does stuff and he never says why. Sometimes they don't even make sense. I haven't read the manga, but from what I hear, he is quite interesting. The above doesn't apply to manga Forte. I'd actually like to see him.

Now don't get me wrong. I like Forte. He's one of my favorite navis, but as far as his anime incarnation is concerned, when is he gonna start pulling his weight? He's an ultimate program, but he sure doesn't seem like one. Maybe in the movie he starts too put himself together?

The anime creation of Forte was way too offbeat, fragment of Pharoahman my left Air Shoe.

I don't have the details on the manga Forte, but the game one is all I need. I like it. It's good.

But that's the backstory, not my opinion.

Forte is overly-idolized by - well, humanity in general, yeah. But he does have the power to back that fandom up.

I think Forte's mysterious attitude on the show would work far better if you knew more about his motivations - even if he didn't say much, knowing his ideals (and I mean outside of 'DESTROY THINGS, GET ULTIMATE PROGRAM!') would make him much more..uh...well, I don't know the word I'm looking for. But you get the idea.

I don't drool over 'the Black Shadow', but I do admire his capabilities. That's my two zeni.

Game and Manga Forte is awesome. In the games, going after Forte is always fun and exciting, especially in BN3. In the Anime though... I just wish Forte did a little more, he had very awesome origins, and those Gospel episodes were great, but Forte hardly does anything, and only time I saw him fight was in that one episode of Stream. So yeah, I like Forte a lot, but his game and manga versions are much cooler then his anime version in my opinion.

Everyone's pretty much summed up my position.

Anime Bass is just... dull. He doesn't do anything, when he first showed up, I was like 'All right! Now we're going to get somewhere!' Then the cold truth of reality set in: In the Anime, Bass is a leftover, he's strictly there to fill in plot holes and bring in the fans. That's about it.

After all, what has Bass done for the Anime? Absolutely nothing. Sure he's supposed to be the biggest baddest Navi around, but actions speak louder than words...

I agree with everyone here saying that Forte in the anime is almost a ... weakling. DS Blues was stronger than him for crying out loud! I think the coolest thing Forte ever did in the anime was in the episode he first appeared, when he jumped off the building. It just looked cool. But as for his story in the game and manga, you really get to see why he is motivated to continue to live: His Hatred for Humanity. He hasn't been forever evil of course, when he was created, I'm sure his bond with Cossack was very close and strong. But in his case, hatred is stronger than love. And so that brings us to the present, where he goes along destroying anything in his way, except one obstacle: Rockman and Netto. He can't figure out what's different about these two new foes... Something familiar, yet so far away.... The rest of the story depends on how Capcom and Sho Pro lay it out for us.

In the game, he was actually a character, in the Anime, like so many others, he's just background.

Forte's my fave character of all time. =P

I like Forte from the games and the EXE manga by Ryou Takamisaki best. I liked how the EXE manga did Forte's background more because it showed a very close relationship between Forte and Cossack, and to me, Cossack in the manga seemed more caring than Cossack in EXE 3.

I also like how Forte was portrayed in Battle Story, because this shows that Forte has a good side, him being the protector of a network and received his scar because he was protecting it.

I'm not entirely fond of Forte in the anime background wise, and I wish he does more (perhaps we'll see that in the movie?). The only reason I like seeing him there was just to hear his voice. =P

I really dislike Bass in the anime. Why? Because his character has no real depth. In the manga and games, he had a reason to be so angry and why he goes on a rampage. However, in the anime, he's only put in to make his fans happy. He doesn't actually do anything and his true strength is never shown. I don't think he has any room to grow in the anime, simply because of the way they changed him. Bass is just a navi/virus created from Pharaohman's data without his true power being shown. I'm getting tired of the anime putting in characters pointlessly with no depth or plot to them being shown. Bass's anger makes no sense and they just completely screwed over the Life Virus. I doubt that Alpha will make an appearance too, which is a real shame.
