*Possible Spoilers* Dr. Regal = Classic Series Villian?

I've been thinking about it lately, and I think that Dr. Regal is directly inspired by a classic series villian. Now, I'm only going on what I know, since I stopped keeping track of what has been happening in the anime around the time stream started.

In case you didn't know, Regal is a term used for royalty, and is a base word for other such words, like Regicide; http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Regicide

In other words, I think Dr. Regal is King, from Rockman and Forte, a.k.a. Megaman and Bass.

For one thing, they both have a relation to Dr. Wily, as well as Rockman's enemies. There's not much else I can think of, so if anyone who knows more about the series comes by, they could probably explain it better than me.

I seriously doubt that Dr.Regal is acually king form the classic serries. It makes no sence at all for a robot to be a human in EXE plus they dont have any similarities and it jsut sounds like nonsence to me.

That's hardly a direct inspiration. Kingman has more in common with King than Regal. That "having a relationship with Dr. Wily" thing is nothing. They're Megaman games, EVERYONE has a relationship with Dr.Wily.

Plus I hardly think you had to post the dictionary definitions for "Regal", I think most people know what that word means. The reason nobody pointed out this "reference" before is because it makes no sense, not because we didn't know the words had a relation.

Dr regal a Megaman classic villain?? :puku: I don't think it can be one. it is just the son of wily. Lan is the grand son of doctor Light. In that case you should ask if lan is a megaman classic Good guys. This a news serie of megaman they have to add new characters.

Actually that was informative. i didn't know regicide came from regal. Now it all makes sense.

I doubt very much that Regal is King, though I admit that they do sound similar. But you have to remember all the main characters from Rockman are named after song styles. By your logic Serenade is the incarnation of Enker, or some other Rockman Hunter. Sorry, but I don't think it's possible.

You can't tell me it's not impossible for Regal to be King. After all, if his name was Dr. King, that wouldn't be very interesting, now would it?

If you think about it, it makes more sense for King to be a human than a navi. After all, it would be pretty hard to run a criminal organization and program it's evil Navis if he were a Navi himself, no?

And you'd have to wonder how Wily got a son. Afterall, what woman would want him? I'm not going to be surprised when it turns out that Regal is a robot built by Wily in a project he codenamed; King.

And I suppose I could have handled the definition thing better.

In fact, there's another original series reference I think is just as possible by your logic. Reggae! His name almost sounds like Regal, he's got a similar black motif, and Reggae was a creation of Dr.Wily as well. Not only that, but when Regal survived after jumping off the platform, it indicated he might possibly be able to fly like a bird. It all makes so much sense! Regal = Reggae!

Honestly, think about your logic a little more.

Reggae's mostly in the manga, as far as I know, I seem to remember him being in Rockboard or some other obscure side-game like that too.

Reggae was in Rock Man and Forte for Wonderswan. Basically he acted like Eddie for Forte.
