Now this game didn't need no fancy pansy graphics. It was simple, funny, and a great game that way XD |
Amen to that. Now, I preferred Mother 2 to the original, storyline-wise, but Mother was an amazing game. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Hmmm...
Donkey Kong(Atari 2600), after all, without this, we wouldn't have Jumpman(Now known as Mario)!
Heavy Barrel(NES), I doubt anyone remembers this game. It's one of those classic "Two unnamed soldiers are dropped into the middle of nowhere to fight off armed terrorists bent on world domination through the use of military force" Type shoot-em-ups. What made this game awesome was the title weapon, which you had to assemble by collecting the various parts. Once you had all of them, you were able to unleash some SERIOUS whoopass on everyone and everything in sight for a limited amount of time.
Rockman 3(NES), a lot of people say that this one was the best of the original series. While I admit it is an awesome game, I disagree with the "Best of" opinion.
Rockman 5(NES), this is the one that got me hooked on the blue bomber in the first place... Mostly because I couldn't get Gyroman's happyhappy theme music out of my head. ^_^
Rockman 6(NES), THIS is the best of the original series right here, folks. Knightman > Every other Robomaster EVER. _________________

The best games the me was Super Mario RPG. It was one of Mario's first RPG games on Super NES. It had humor, challenging puzzle, cool characters, and tough bosses. I also love "Mario and Luigi: Superstar saga" on GBA for the same reasons.
Also, Mischief Makers For N64. To me, it was one of the most fun platform game I evered played. |

I think Final Fantasy is the greatest game because of the plot...
U know it's been around for years and people still actually play it! Like from 1997-2004 I think... that was quite a surpise _________________

It's vaguely frightening that you reference 1997 as when people started playing Final Fantasy (that was the year that FF7 came out) XP. Final Fantasy I came out a full decade before that; in 1987.
Personally FF6 is very high on my list of "best games of all time". _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Depends on who you're asking. Most people will say it's either 6 or 7.
...I think the best FF is 4. _________________

All the Mario games are great too. The best Mario game would have to be Super Mario 64. Anyone have 120 stars yet? I do. :]
EDIT:I saw someone has Mischeif Makers. I love that game! Its a really great game but its really short, and easy. _________________ *Join RMNSB!*

I should say the Soul Reaver is the best game I have ever played. Good background story; sidemission items enough and good; the bosses where mind challenging rather "hit button a lot" ones; and the puzzles where great.
After that, I would say Golden Sun: Classic type RPG with challenging puzzles and a LOT of sidemissions; and the fisrt one I ever played that you can actually beat going straight through the main story without spinning around to level up. _________________

Up until about a month ago the only one I'd ever played was the first one. They're non-linear, so it doesn't matter which one you play first. I would personally say 6 is the best, 4 is also quite good. Both are available in PSX form - 5 and 6 are "Final Fantasy Anthology" and 4 and Chrono Trigger are "Final Fantasy Chronicles". 1 and 2 are featured on "Final Fantasy Origins" for PSX or "Dawn of Souls" for GBA, and the others, except for FF3, are available separately for PS1/2. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete
Now tell me, just tell me what beats an awesome game with well done visual, well done music, great and charming story, fun and comical characters, 20+ minutes of some of the best hand drawn anime cutsenses ever made, and...."interesting" pictures of the game's female characters? Simply put it was the best game I've ever played, I'm not even sure if I like MMX4 more as LSSSC was truly a masterpiece and a once in a lifetime eperience. And the sequel, LEB was just as good. What sucks, is that there hasn't been word on a 3rd installment in a long time. What sucks even more is that my copy of LSSSC is destroyed. T_T |

My top three favorite games:
-Final Fantasy 3 (NES)
-Final Fantasy 9 (PS1; hate calling it PSX, 'cause what does the X stand for?)
-Double Dragon (arcade) _________________ War may not be the right answer, but when you're in one, ending it effectively and with positive results is a must. Vote John McCain for U.S. President.

Huh, that's a surprise to me. Most people I know say that was the worst one, followed by 10. :puku:
But I digress.
Sonic 3 & Knuckles(Genesis) - Pretty much the pinnacle of Sonic gaming right there, if you can find both cartridges. :D _________________

The best game? Probably the MOST underrated, the MOST infamous, and the BEST RPG ever! (and yes, it's by Tetsuya Nomura)
Brave Fencer Musashi.
If any of you here played it, then you'd know what makes the game HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE. The main character's quirks, excellent puzzles, and a very innovative battle system (you absorb an enemy's skill to get through an obstacle). Granted, most people claimed that this game tried to copy Zelda (that's what made it infamous), but I claim the otherwise. The graphics, the story, and the battle system alone will make you spend hours and hours playing this game. _________________

Honestly, I find it very difficult to choose just one game that I would consider the best of all time. Many games had huge impacts on both myself and the gaming industry. I'll just name a few of my personal favorites, I guess.
Rockman 2 and 3: These two are my favorites within the original series of Rockman games. The Robot Masters are awesome, the music is supurb, and they are what got me into the fandom in the first place. More specifically Rockman 2 as it was the first Rockman(Megaman technically) game I ever played.
Chrono Trigger: Probably my favorite RPG ever. I absolutely love the characters, Frog and Magus especially. The graphics are beautiful, and besides, sprites own you. The game, although dealing with the fun problems it can cause, deals heavily with time travel. The game is somewhat easier than a lot of other RPGs, but that cetainly doesn't make it any less fun.
Rockman X8: Even though I prefer the classic consoles and games (X1, X3, X4) over most of the things coming out these days, this game shows that Capcom can still do an X Series game right. Well, if you ignore the plot being a little wonky, what with the Zero Series and Zero still being around in the X Series. Oh well, the game is very fun, very pretty, and has awesome music. A vast improvement from X7.
I dunno, overall I seem to enjoy a game with sprites more. They have a certain feeling to them that a super-detailed 3D rendering can never have. _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\
