In all honesty, I think for example, if a navi is taken out of the series for about 30 episodes (or something like that) when the navi comes back. Its instinct for us to think that the navi looks older. The animator might make some small changes here and there, but all in all, I don't think navi grow older, or at least, not enough to be regonized.
