Have any of you ever wondered whether Navis can become program glitches? I don't mean viruses, just code that is off or warped somewhat.
I was thinking about two things when I formulated this idea: a) ReBoot, in which Bob becomes a glitch in the program, and b) Marauder mages in the World of Darkness tabletop RPG, whose minds are so warped by some mental illness or other that they are capable of twisting reality around them.
That's all. I'm just curious to know what you guys think.

BugFusion navis. In EXE2 we see a navi built from bugs revert to his bestial side. I had an idea for several other such navis that used the chaotic power of bugs as bugged navis. Then there's the BassGS of 21XX in my fanfic series in which the bugs he merges with have taken over his mind and turned him into a mindless killing machine. Y'know that stuff.

In general, the game series presents too forms of "glicthes" for navis. Either bugs, the junk data released from destruction and a form of sickness to navis, or Darkness, the chaotic side of every navi's soul that takes them away from their original sense of morals and self-control.

Well, Navis HAVE glitches, and in fact BugStyle is the glitched form of megaman after all. Also the Darksoul is, in some way the "wicked mind" form of the navi.

Talking about it, I LOVE how well the transmission work in megaman's world: never a lag (only in the moon episode of thew second season). They also never download corrupted data unless it's done on purpose (ok, redundant code and data repair is my speciality, so I buy that the tech improved so far).

I know about that... what I wanted to know was whether there could be a Navi that actually messed with the system itself due to data corruption, but retained its original personality (minus a neurosis or two)...

Ah. Well, not officially, not yet anyway. Although in the anime when Megaman absorbs and spews out the net at the end of the second season you could see it that way. That had to do with his own bugstyle as well.

that was Megaman's own program that did that Raijin.. he absorbed the data from Gospel and then rebuilt the cyber network..

Well, you can think of Pharaoman in that way: his mind program got corrupted because his all-mighty powers, and that gave him the power to reshape the net.

I'll consider data corruption similar to the infection of wounds in humans. If a Navi's damaged data is not repaired, it will slowly try to fix itself by taking data from around the damaged point, further damaging the Navi's data. The Navi will eventually disintegrate from this, much like a human will die from infection. If the Navi does not disintegrate, its data will be highly corrupted and its mental capablility will be reduced to that of a virus.

I used Metal Soul's navi "Infection" in my comic. He was 50% human DNA and 50% bug fragment. This fusion caused him to have human blood and a heart. The only bad thing is that when His owner "Ethan" slots in a chip, it changes into somthing a little different, therfore Battle chips are always unstable when it comes to "Infection.exe".

As far as the games go, a Darkloid is a navi who's Navi-program is heavily corrupted by the Dark Power(Magne-Metal, Dark Chips, ect). Gospel is a navi who's body is completly consumed with bugs! [spoil:2ecd681eea]Nebula Grey is a navi made completely out of Dark Power[/spoil:2ecd681eea], Junkman is made of Junk Data, and Zero was a virus, since there's several ways for a navi to be created, there's sure to be "mistakes" or glitch navis

maybe, maybe not, navis can be created by bugs or leftover data, also their minds can become courrpted, like when the navis use dark chips and lose their minds. bugstyle was a bug created by forte which grew in Rockman. I think.
