Let's talk about them

I say let's start with the panty-riffic Najica

At first I thought it was going to be a joking anime, but it is a pretty cool anime...

Then there is the lost in time... NADIA

I hear about it from time to time, but no one truly talks about it...

I just totally love the story and the characters...

It's pretty hilarious what someone said about how Laputa and Nadia are the same...

...how on EARTH could you classify a Miyazaki, especially one like Laputa, as "not talked about"?

And I've heard enough about Nadia that I'm eager for the talking to stop. >.> *disliked that one*

I wasn't saying Laputa wasn't talked about I was referring to how someone said Nadia and Laputa are the same in story and how they team up with a boy that has dream of flying to the sky and other stuff...

There's one really good title I recently started watching, Major.
It's a baseball anime and while it has some of the cliches the genre usually has, unlike a lot of sports anime and manga it has a lot of focus on character development, to the point where there's been more of it than the sport so far.

I'd really suggest checking it out if you like sports/really good character development Razz

I've heard a lot about Nadia >.>;.

Tactics is pretty untalked of, in my opinion. I don't see many people who know of it.

Naruto is completely untalked of, too. I'm being sarcstic, don't get onto me.

Well, I don't recall seeing anything about Gasaraki. It's in the Big Mecha genre, then gets into a bit of politics. It's opening song is awsome (although I don't know what it's called). Animation could have been better though.

Then there's Serial Experiments Lain (also AWSOME opening song, Duvet by Boa) which is a cyberpunk kind of anime. That one gets really weird as it goes along. Has the "Where does digital world end and real world begin?" theme.

Video Girl Ai is a fine teen romance series (all episodes available on one disc) that I don't recall seeing discussed anywhere. Strange premise in it. Ai exists physically only as long as the tape is running and... huh, I don't remember the guy's name, but he's having girl trouble and Ai's supposed to help him feel better.

Beyblade? Oh, it has a large fandom, but it's not megapopular, like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh (Kaibaaaaaaaaaaaa)...yeah, though the dub SUCKS. *waits for uncut, subtitled, bilingual DVDs.*

My personal pick is BECK. It's popular elsewhere on the great Internets, but in these circles I rarely hear about it.

On the surface, it's about a group of teens trying to form a band and become popular, but below that are the complex character interactions, mysterious pasts, a cute love triangle, and the pressures of being a foreigner (though, that last one is emphasized more in the manga). Throw in a heaping helping of English (and Engrish) and you have a delicious pie.. er, anime.

Out of all the anime I've ever seen, BECK does the best job of making its characters actually look their native race (except for Leon, but he's a special case). Koyuki looks Japanese, the guys from Dying Breed look American (or at least European). The only real exceptions are the title character Beck and Keith, the patchwork dogs. But as they play little active role in the series, you can forgive that.

The only problem is that it may want to make you learn to play guitar even if you never had any interest in music before ^^;

I'll say Yakitate!! Japan; it's one of my favorite shows, but I only know one person who watches it. :P It also does a very good job of making me want bread. >.>

BECK is also good, though I can't say I've wanted to learn to play guitar from it. :o

Orphan. It has got to be one of the best anime I've ever seen. Magic, action, humor, it's got a bit of everything. I picked up a DVD at SAAN for only $10, and it has to be the best deal I've ever had. Anyone who likes shows like Slayers and Inuyasha should see Orphan. Just my opinion though.

A current favorite of mine is the viewtiful joe anime, I like the games and had to get the anime and now that it's licensed, I can hope it gets on toonami (it's perfect for it).
