Maybe its because PIU has the Arrows in the corners + a center button (which gets really annoying when you have to press three buttons at once XP) but in DDR it has arrows in well the not corners and no middle button. But thats my opinion anyone else?

Close.

PIU has many times been accused of being a direct copy off of DDR, and we all know how some people love sticking with the original than the new and updated version...

That's the way I take it, though. People hate PIU just because it's not made by Konami, the original creators of Dance Grooves. (Even though that's inaccurate with PPR, BM, DF and all those other dance games around)

Three-buttons (or 3s, as it is called here) are hard. I tried one, only to lose my balance and almost falling face first...

Some PIU songs are slight overkill on certain difficulties. I forgot the title, but there is one song out there where you have to press all 4 corner arrows at the same time (4s). I was baffled by this, until I saw one way on how to do 4s (it painfully involves using the knees).

By the way, other than PIU, I am also having fun with PPP (ParaParaParadise). Anyone know this? My favorite songs there are Romeo and Juliet and Deluxe, both at every difficulties :D .

Well, if none of you like 3s or 4s, you won't like ITG (in the groove). Most songs have plenty of 4 Freezes, just look at the song Queen Of Light (check the ITG video labeled Queen over on IGN.com). Anyway, my DDR skills have progressed to the extent where I can do a good amount of 8 and 9 footers. I haven't tried 10 footers, though, but I will soon...

And BTW, has anyone here seen the new RedOctane Metal pad? I think it's complete trash compared to the current RO Metal pad, as I believe it's ugly as sin, just look at it!

There are actually a numerous amount of songs that have 4 pressed, not all 4 corners all the time, though. You probably wouldn't like the sight of ALL 10 BUTTONS as a freeze button at one time, eh? XD (Source: Canon-D) It's possible to hit all 10 if you are flexable enough, but if you miss one step on that freeze, its basically an instant game over.

The overkill songs on PIU that I've played would be...
1. Canon D
2. Dignity
3. Let's get this party started
4. Slam!
5. Solitary II
6. Pump Me Adameus (Not overwhelming, but, it's alright)

Keep in mind that none of these songs pass over 200 BPM except for Canon D... I think. Maybe Konami should lean off the stupid Maxxes for a bit (i know they have Bag and Sakura) and concentrate on slower songs.
There are about 3 to 5 more insane songs.

___

Blues, that mat, believe it or not, while it is not sexy, it works pretty damn well. XDD Uhmm... Do you use the bar, Blues? If not, that will help you conquer those last steps. ^^ It's cheap to use the bar, I don't use it unless I've been playing for more than 3 hours, but it's always good to get that last blast of victory.

No kidding?! 10s?! *imagines how that is* I think I know how to do 8s, but how do you do 10s?

Anyway, I'm trying out each and every song there is here. Right now, my favorite songs are Valenti and Fiesta. I can't seem to handle any song with a difficulty of 8+, but I know I can get that with practice...

Nonsense, I actually like the pad better now. ^_^ *hearts ITG*

And to be honest, there aren't that many sets of 4 simultaneous arrows in In the Groove. There are a lot of hands in certain songs (Queen of Light has the most of any song), but most have only a few, if none at all, and pretty much anything below Hard doesn't have them at all.

Even though I'm a total geek for DDR, I have NEVER played In The Groove... Is it close to being like BM?

I think I've seen it before. It's like DDR, but with a few twists here and there. I remember seeing shrinking arrows, unaligned marks, and false arrows randomly placed during the song (to simply try to ruin your dance).

Anyway, I'm getting in to this PIU game. Already, I can do some songs without looking at the monitor. Of course, I'd still look to watch the animation of the song. I love the story(?) of Valenti and Canon-D.

...Pardon my French... But that sounds completely retarded. @_@

PIU is great with the animations; people watching can actually watch the screen other from the notes because it's... well, basically awesome. XD

Hey, does anyone here use StepMania? I'd like some songs, because I can't install the packages correctly directly from places like DDRUK.com, but I downloaded GM's version of BeSomewhere and got it runnin' with ease...(btw I want a folder from 4th Mix PLUS, if anyone knows where to find a folder from that mix or has one, PLEASE PM ME!!!)

Ahh, let me clarify on that. ^_^; That's not the normal gameplay mode. In regular Dance mode, nothing random pops up while you're playing. It's like regular DDR, except with hands and mines that explode if you step on them. In Marathon, the equivalent of Nonstop, in some courses, scripted modifers will turn on and off. It's rather confusing but oddly fun. XD

-_- Well. Why don't they just call it an exact clone of DDR? XDD

Anyways... I got a video of myself doing Dignity on Crazy.

www.exehq.com/tallahassee/geoff_1_1.mov
www.exehq.com/tallahassee/geoff_1_2.mov
www.exehq.com/tallahassee/geoff_2_1.mov

If you can't reach it from there, try from:
www.exehq.com/tallahassee/piu1.php

I never noticed how freakin' weird I look when I'm setting my ass on fire trying to get those stream of notes. XDD

And here's our arcade's high score base: www.exehq.com/tallahassee/hiscores.jpg

XDDDDD

I am such an attention whore at my arcade, but I don't care. -_- Attention whores rule.
