I am not impressed, at all. I was looking forward to seeing how they would handle such a gruesome episode, and I felt that they could have left half of the stuff that they cut out in and still be in league with the censors.
I don't see why they went from 15 to 17. It makes no sense. (Note: My apologies for doubting you, Webbuilder.)
Yes, I agree that the pixellation for censorship was far too excessive. Episode 13? (The Steel Sniper) had such pixellation, but it was kept in check. The censors must have had a field day with this one, as too much was cut out to see anything that make this epsiode even remotely exciting. It was throughly unpleasant. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! Aw, the skipped Aquaman's first appearance. Maybe it will be shown down the road sometime.
Anyway, this weeks episode was edited a good bit. I figured they would though as it was quite a violent one. At least they had Beastman receive a deletion and not logged out like they did with a few others. _________________ .+.~illusion~.+. |

Hoo boy. Sounds rough. Well, can't say we didn't see it coming. I still think it's a plus that the episode wasn't cut entirely. At least we're through with it now and there's only about ten or twenty more heavy censorship eps in the series to look forward to. :P
I suppose if there was ONE episode in the whole series so far to see in the original version, this would be it. I'm going to add it to my list of episodes I intend to download one of these days.
Shonshiwo15, look at your last post and then look one post above it. The major edits were all posted while you were writing it. Sometimes it pays to check the thread for posts that were made in between hitting the "Reply" and "Submit" buttons. For instance, you posted while I was writing and when I checked back I was able to edit this paragraph in. |

To be fair, I only covered the main ones. I didn't bring up the usual talking where there was silence and MegaMan's swords being blurred.(For example, when BeastMan causes the blackout, when they show the overhead shot of the city, we hear a news reporter saying something like "We'll have more news on the blackout at 11, if we have power." )
They also seemed to dumb down BeastMan's addiction to the DarkChips. At the beginning, when he returns to Regal's, instead of demanding Dark Chips like a drug abuser, he says that the Dark Chip's made him lose part of his data, and he needs them to replace what he lost. When Regal gives him the chip, instead of saying that one chip wasn't enough like a drug abuser, he complains that Regal is giving him weak DarkChips that don't give him enough power to survive and that he needs ones that have more power. |

Because CYBERSTEROIDS!!!11 are bad for you >>
Well, I'm also not surprised that this one was majorly edited, but I've seen the Japanese version of this one, so I'm not disgusted or anything considering I saw what happened, and I expected there to be a lotta changes. Also, none of you should worry about them skipping over Shuko's episode, they'll get to it eventually just like they did with the others. |

Oh ye of little faith. (Actually, I'd have doubted my own post...)
Actually, MC, I think it double posted because of my buggy mouse. The touch pad on my laptop sticks, so it registered two clicks instead of one.
Yep, Laika shows up next week, followed by the ever popular Search Soul!
Meh, now I just have to wait for a time when I can watch todays episode... _________________

Huh? How I feel? If you're talking about people missing out on vital information because they ignore your posts, that happens all the time, and it's not like it's anything personal, I'm actually fairly used to it.
Juust keep re-stating that the Aquaman episode will be shown later and people will get it eventually. |

Wow, I got my chance earlier than I thought I would.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. The pixiliation was out of control in this episode, if they had just shrunk down the amount of the field pixiled it would have looked much better.
Sad... _________________

At least it will be awhile before we find out Aquaman's voice and hear his terrible dub name (Spoutman ugh). Anyone have any ideas for what V.A would play Aquaman. I'm thinking they'll go with the VA who plays Shippo on Inuyasha. |

Yes, Jillean Micheals, she also played Princess Pride. I'm hoping for either her or Cathy Wesluck (Chiaotsu, Kagome's Mom, Snoozer). And I still think that Spoutman fits his childish personality a little bit more than Aquaman. Besides, this specific name change is a case you can't really blame Shopro for. |

Oh and that reminds me, if I remember correctly, the name of the Soul Unison wasn't ACTUALLY NAMED in the original japanese version of the episode. And in case you haven't already been informed, while the toys've kept their regular english version names, Spout Soul, Torch Soul etc., Metal Soul has kept its name. SO DON'T, FREAKING, WORRY ABOUT IT. Have a nice *deep breathe* day ^_^ |

This episode... started off so good... then this line.
OOOURGH...
The "No you're wrong" right before Unison also sounded funny, and.. well I knew they'd change the "With my heart! And my heart!" line, so I can't complain there.
...and you know, I totally didn't notice they cut all the Hot Springs scenes until Ryouko mentioned it. Hm. I still liked Miss Mari's "Bubble-Club-Let's-GO!" line, very cute. |

Actually, Mega's "no you're wrong" line had a hint of drama in it, Andy sounded like he was being very serious when he said that. I liked it o.o |

Well, he VOICED it well, but it was just... too fast. Trying to cram all these extra words and long names into such short spaces... bah!
Y'know... despite all the edits and junk, this is still a very fun and enjoyable episode. It loses many brownie points, but I would watch it again.

That line actually seems to embody everything wrong with NTW. I don't know if you know this, but that was based off the line "Mess with the best and die like the rest.", which originated somewhere, but I have no idea where. The point is it's one of those cliché battle lines that have been over-used to the point they're just a joke when they're uttered. Granted, Megaman's battle dialogue is pretty cheesy and un-imaginitive in both languages, but the amount of cliché is highly noticable in the english version. Add it to the fact they simply replaced the word "die" with "lose" in this particular cliché and you have yourself a pretty apt analogy for the editing of the entire series contained in that line. Add it to the fact there are apparently viewers who hear corny watered-down clichés like that and enjoy it, and I get pretty worried over the possibilities things will get any better than that. |

I didn't think that you would put it so tartly, but yes, I must agree with that. There are certainly some improvements to the dialogue in the dub, but much of those are, as you said, watered-down cliches that make me grasp my abdomen in pain.
I must admit, though, that the overall quality of the episodes in the dub have risen substantially from EXE...so I guess it is not all bad. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks!
