Okay, so I was bored one day, so I decided to find the Rockman.exe cast's name meanings. After I put them in, here's what I got:

Netto: net(as in internet)
Saito: site
Meiru: mail

then I figured this out:

Saito and Netto are brothers, and if you put their names together it makes "net site" or "website"

Meiru and Netto like each other, and if you put their names together it makes "net mail" or "email."

Has anyone else noticed this or am I just way too obsessed?

That too, but I was mainly referring to the Japanese version.

In some Spanish countries, Netto is a nickname for the name Ernesto(Ernest). Weird XDD.

Whoa, I think you're on to something. I never noticed that saito and meiru could be pronounced that way.

But it makes sense. That's why the game has Meiru's name as "Mayl". (cause it sounds like "mail, get it? Huh? do you?)

I realised that Meiru and Maylu sound almost exactly the same, the dubbers probably thought it was supposed to be an L instead of an R. So when people complained about Meiru's name change in the dub I thought "What are you talking about? They're almost exactly the same."

I wonder if it works for any other names...

Lan Hikari = Lan's last name is Japanese for Light.. Lan and Hub's names are 2 types of connections
Lan = Local Area Network
Hub = what connects the main server to a network

Wow, I knew that the meaning of Netto, Saito, Meiru, etc but I never thought that if you put them together the meaning is "netsite" and all that stuff. It´s a good observation.

I knew about Netto and Saito, but not Meiru. Neat. So...what does that make Enzan? And where did they get Chaud from? O_o...

*Spoilerish...*

Yes, Hikari means Light. As in Dr. Light... Lan's grandfather is named Dr. T. Light. Laughing Plus, he looks like the Dr. Light from the original Rockman/Megaman games.

"Chaud" is french for "hot", it comes from Ijuin, which has something to do with heat in Japanese. And for those who still don't know, "Chaud" is pronounced "Show" and Froid (cold) is pronounced "Fr-wah"

Dex can be an abbreviation for Index.

Also, I don't know about the other Japanese names, but Saito is a real name.

No, it's not the "Ijuin" part that means hot, it's the "Enzan" part. "En" is basically "Flame" and "Zan" is "mountain". So...Enzan = "Flame Mountain"?

Oh right. Whatever. I'm an expert in French, not Japanese. :P

Incidently, his NTWarrior name completely futzes up the pronunciation of "Chaud", ruining it's meaning, but swaps in another name that makes the fire reference more blunt and obvious, "Blaze".

So whatever name Chaud has, it's all about how hot he is.

"En" is closer to "burn" than "flame." Also, the character is two stacked on top of eachother, so it's stacked fire. :O

I looked up enzan on a English-Japanese dictionary and I got "Operation". It made sense at the time, because Enzan is an official net-battler in the games and his attitude was like that of a special agent of something.

I looked up en, and I didn't get flame, or anything remotely similar.

But japanese is difficult to translate. It's almost more art than science.

But the Kanji in Enzan's name isn't the same as "operation's."
