Drabble, I've never seen a definition, but how about "A short story centric on one character or idea."

Here's a dilemma. FF.net has started using these ratings for classifying fanfictions. I'll leave the link for anyone who's interested in using them.

I mistyped :eyes: , it was 'Inspirational' I was gunning for. Not 'Spiritual', and no 'Inspirational' is not 'Supernatural'. But then, there aren't enough of those around here to bother making a genre tag for.

In regards to the rating change, I've been using both the new FanFiction ratings and the old system on my fic ever since the new ones came out. That seems like the easiest solution.

Agreed. The old system is a good indicator for those who are just passing by, and have never really picked up a fic like this before. Surely they have gone to the movies at least once in their life (unlike me...<_<), so they know what to expect.

For the time being, leave both. As the old system becomes obsolete, so do those ratings.

Lime/Lemon fanfics are alternative terms for fanfics with sexual content. Check the first post.

As far as I know, it's exactly the same term. Fangirls who couldn't tell limes and lemons apart probably forged it. That, or the fact that limes and lemons are citrus fruits, and the fanfic term they're classifying is "kind of addicting, yet dangerous if abused", just like citrus. Who knows?

At one point I think the two were meant to indicate differing degrees of detail in the sexually explicit portions of the story, with lime being the lesser while lemon was the greater in terms of detail. But I have not seen that distinction used in years.

Angst--A feeling of anxiety or apprehension often accompanied by depression.

Thus, an angsty fic involves some sort of drama or suspense, which eventually ties in to a depressed or melancholy tone in the piece of fiction. Hope this helps.

Quick question: If the language in a fic reaches the fabled F-bomb, does it automatically up the rating to R? I think every PG13 movie I've seen has never had it in there, so I was kind of curious. =\

Well, if it isn't -excessive- language, PG13 should be fine...I would say about three or more instances would bump it up to an R rating.

And keep in mind, there is still a word filer on the forum, so I'm unsure if the word would get through anyway. =p
