Before an admin says "you should have said something more" -wich is true- I will start talking.
Metroid is one of the best FPS games, in fact is one of the pionners of the "adventure-shooter" making you look for the new items to get trough. That besides making the first bame booklet saying "he" every 5 minutes and ending the game to discover he was a "she" was a great adding (and to the moment, it was shoking even if the booklet said it). _________________

Indeed. Sadly, I do not have a GameCube...so I haven't touched any of the Metroid Prime series games yet. If I ever do get one, that will be the first game I play.
I have some of the Metroid games for the GBA...and most of them are quite good. I enjoyed it even when it was sidescrolling. Playing it FPS would most definitely be fantastic. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I don't have a Cube either... *sigh* but I have a DS and Prime Hunters First Hunt.
I must say Sidescrolling Metroid > First Person Shooter Metroid, in my opinion. I find it much much more enjoyable.
I've played and beat Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission. ...I still can't beat Metroid II. -.- I've played Metroid II and Prime Hunters First Hunt(I don't think you can "beat" that per se, but I've gotten the highest possible score in both of the games that have a highest possible score and I have an okay score in Survival Mode). Oh I also tried Prime 2 Echoes in a store once. It was okay, but it didn't feel like Metroid to me... ehh... I didn't play that much, I guess.
I really like Metroid 1, just because it feels so classic. I spent countless hours in school playing that game(I was playing the GBA version on Metroid Zero Mission, and yes I was playing during class). It was great... now if I could find that cartridge, I'd be set! :D
Hands down though, my favorite Metroid game is Super Metroid. THAT game was the BEST! It just is. Lotta exploration, tons of cool weapons, great ending. Man... That's like the only game I've played more than MegaMan Legends 2... I can beat the game in less than an hour now, but I still haven't found everything in it, and I refuse to use a guide. :D I really should just look it up, but ehh.... whatever.

Im more of a old school Metroid fan rather then the new Prime Series, Best Metroid game ever was Super Metroid, just awesome
I own Metroid Prime, but haven't played it much or beat it, just because it hasn't hit me as hard as the classic 2D games did, maybe sometime I'll try it out _________________ -Follow me on Twitch.tv-

Super Metroid was purely awesome. They should remake it Zero-Mission style. |

*Glances at the first few posts*
Does no one here have an NES!?
*calms down*
I've been a Metroid fan since I was 4, playing through the original Metroid countless times (and dying countless times ¬_¬. Didn't have access to any other Nintendo consoles or Gameboys until the Gameboy Color and Metroid II was long gone. I had to complete the series through other means. x_x
Now that I have a GameCube, a GBA (and variations), and a DS, I can enjoy (most of) the Metroid series in all its glory. The Metroid Prime games are great fun, but I'm much better at the 2D games (Reason: Crazy obsessions with Fusion and Zero Mission that lasted for at least a year upon release. Yay for ending collecting and speed running ). _________________ Net navis are like imaginary friends. The only difference is that you don't get weird looks for talking to them. |

I don't think it needs a remake. The things that made it "bad" are part of what made it good. Maybe include it as an unlockable in Metroid Prime Hunters. That'd be cool. The DS has the right buttons for it.
It's good to see other people like Super Metroid too. ^_^
Oh yeah, and WK138, I have an NES but I never owned the original Metroid game. All my games from back then were either games my dad or cousins wanted. _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

I knew about John Woo taking the rights for the Metroid movie...but excuse me while I hack phlegm in disgust for the choice of actress. Any link for this? _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! ...With all honesty, there is absolutely no way, they can make an awesome Metroid movie in this current day and age.
1st issue. Live action would look funky. An entirely CGed movie would look pretty.
2nd issue. Samus doesn't talk. She never talks. I've never seen a movie where someone doesn't talk and just shoots everyone (though no plotline movies come in as a close second). No silly stupid sidekicks either! >_<
3rd issue. Final Fantasy. If it flops, there would be a great loss of money as well as fan morale.
-Done ranting now

I dunno, she seems to talk a lot in Fusion, [spoil:5408afef6b]especially in the ending.[/spoil:5408afef6b]
Video game main characters don't usually talk that much anyway (except in MMBN)...
What they should do is have someone travel around with Samus; that way she'd have someone to talk to. Maybe the SA-X [spoil:5408afef6b]she absorbed at the end of Fusion[/spoil:5408afef6b] could be her friend that lives inside her mind... eh, it's kinda hard to explain without writing a fanfic about it (which I need to do sometime)... or maybe I've just been playing too many games where a bad guy turns good. _________________ My feathered kids

Metroid games are action games. Not much dialogue involved. Fusion is really the blacksheep of the herd as far as Metroid goes. It gave a game that had no real story at all a major story for the fourth installment. Kinda threw off the whole idea.
As for the movie... what video game to date has had a movie do it justice? I'm dreading the movie personally. They'll have to butcher the story to make parts of it work I'm sure... _________________ I think it's time to say goodbye. |

Actually, I liked the fact that they added the story to Fusion, and it made reason aganist the old question "Why do I have to find all the upgrades AGAIN?".
As for the movie, I agree with Pitchums, no game based movie has been good, even when I do like Resident Evil movies, it only keeps the names from the game. _________________
