I watched it, and I'm not impressed.
It did, however, imply that the "backwards compatibility" of the chips goes back only to EXE3... _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Interesting, they're using that EXE theme remix from the EXE1-3 OST in that video.
Boasting "Two versions in one game" isn't too impressive since the two versions should be one game in the first place. >_<
Guess it's right that DT can use data from previous games. At least as far back as EXE3 anyway. I'm still skeptical that'll mean an extended library. Probably more like BN2's retro chip traders.
The concept of dragging your team around OUTSIDE of Liberation Missions looks pretty good to me. And you can fight with more than one character in a battle...but still only one at a time. :/ |

EXE3 and EXE4 chips are in here eh?
That opens up MANY new basic combinations:
Ice Stage + PlasmaBall3 + MagnetSoul = Nice.
SandStage + GyroSoul = Convienient.
Fumikomizan + Blues Soul = Errr, four steps I guess?
Meteor Earth + Heat+30 = Yayz!!! The return of elemental power ups!!!
And assuming the navis chips from those two games appear as well, I wonder how the SP versions would work??? _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

Four steps? That will be crazy. o_O

Don't forget that if you add Napalm soul with that, it gets crazy.
I watched the video, and it looks pretty impressive. I know they didn't upgrade much in the gameplay, but Capcom pretty much used up most of DS's potential, making it a decent DS game. (So far, I haven't seen really one good DS game, and that's the reason I didn't buy DS.) The touch screen feature is pretty nice, and the voices (hearing Netto saying "Plugu-in, Rockman.EXE, transumission!!") is not a bad add-on either. The microphone feature also gives a more real PET-like than 4.5. Now, I will be really happy if they also make another battle chip gate for DS, so it can be as close as a real PET. One thing I am pretty confused; when it says "add your navis from the other version", does that mean we need EXE 5 (both version) to create our own team? If that's the case, then Capcom is being really cheap this time, being unfair to those who doesn't have neither version of the game yet. I am still pretty excited about this game. Now if I only have enough money to buy a DS...and from the looks of the quality of this game, this will cost around $50.00. Ah, shouldn't have wasted my money on all those mangas I bought a few days ago... >_<
Btw, guys, think more positively. Sure, cheering on Rockman in a public place is not something I would do, but you can do that at home. Sure, your parents will think you are getting weird, but I am pretty sure Capcom will have a function that let you to choose whether or not you want the cheering part enabled or not. I mean, if they don't have that, young people in the world will become all weirdos just because Capcom invented this feature.
Wackoman.EXE wrote: | the only one PA rule sucked. i was dissapointed in BN 4 because vthey took out some of my favorite chips like the elemental swords. BN for DS will most definetly be pretty good. i hope it is because most of the DS games are pretty mediocre. |
One PA does suck (you think I was able to beat EXE 4 without at least doing a life sword three times against Duo SP?) but look, if they DO enable the "more-than-one-PA" thing in EXE 5, everyone would be dead under the combo of PAs and a flurry of Chaos attack (area grab+couple of life swords+chaos Blues soul unison=deletion.) Guys, Capcom has been making games for years, and they know what difficult a BN game should be, and that's why they took out all the abusement features so this game is actually challenging. I don't mean to bluff, but EXE 4 only took me 2-3 months to beat, and that's a pretty fast record for me, considering me a sucky noob at strategy/RPG games. They took out all the abusement features so more challengers can take on this game, and, of course, their sale increases _________________

This is probably the wrong place to address this, but the alternative is reviving the EXE5 thread, and it doesn't seem like the right time to do that. Besides while we're on the subject of the preview movies...
The EXE5 trailer shows quite a few of the translations we're being treated to. I spotted that Screen Divide got shortned to "ScrenDiv" even in normal dialogue, just like in BN4. I do wish they'd just use the ridiculously shortened names only where they need to be shortened, like on the chip's title. There's just no need to spell like that in a regular dialogue box. Ugh. They also coulda called it "S-Divide" like in the Japanese version at certain points.
I also saw EngetsuKunai is now "MoonBld", Dragrin is "Draggin", and BatShot is "BatCan". At least they spelled out BlizzardMan fully at one point of dialogue, so there's some hope. It'd undoubtably be something like "BlizMn" in battle and with his chip though.
And Past Vision, once renamed to Flashbacks, have been renamed again to Vision Bursts. I wonder what they'll really be called in game. The Past Vision they showed also mentioned Yai's last name for the first time other than BCC. That's neat. |

I hear that the Free FullSynchro thing is only for one verson of the chip. The others give you an HP Recovery and the other one.... I don't know... Speed Guage maybe??? |

The EXE 4 theme was utter crap, though the EXE 5 remix of it wasn't altogether bad. I just hope the song makes it into the game in one form or another. |

Oh yes. Finally some nostalgia. However, I think I picked up hints of the main theme from EXE4 in parts of the movie as well...
And it would be VERY nice if EXE5 used the traditional theme from EXE1-3. Whatever happened to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Quite relieved they used the EXE 1~3 themes. I will throw up if I have to listen to the crappy music of EXE 4 again. Ah, the horror. EXE 5 wasn't that bad, but I still enjoy the EXE 1~3 the most.
EDIT: I do not have a DS myself, so I need ask this: Does DS support multi-language game catriage? (ex. can you play a Japanese DS game on a America DS? I know GBA can do that, but NGC can not.) _________________

Somehow I doubt that music will be in the actual game, I think they just pulled it out of the OST for the preview movie.
You may think it strange, but I actually downloaded that remix to my MP3 player from PMM before they took down their tracks for bandwidth issues. I know it's not the best remix ever, but something about it really appeals to me for some reason. I guess it's that it's the only EXE theme remix that isnt GBA quality. |

Yes....ALL cantridges don't have region lock, language incompatibility, and anything of the sort. The only problem is you won't be able to link up or communicate with the English version of the game. _________________ ~DrkX (Resident over-sexed camera-whore & Facebook zombie.)

I was gonna play MMBN 5 to get to the first Liberate mission, but I decided not to, but good news is, the PET menu is redone for the english version, so no more "Chipfol" They made a new font for it. For the DS game(Japanese only was available) There is a new animated opening and plug in, also the ability to dynamicly switch navis during battle(you can only do this on the GBA using the battle chip gate) You can even have 2 navis follow you while you're on the net(didn't try this, saw it on the video) _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

This actually looks like it's gonna turn out good. Hopefully I can get BN5 first before I play BN5 DS.
