I wish you'd use common sense instead of "being safe". I actually find it pretty annoying highlighting a spoiler only to find it's something either everybody knows already or something that's not interesting enough that somebody would not want to know if they hadn't seen it yet. Way too many people on this board over-use the spoiler tag. I'd prefer to see better judgement instead of paranoia. |
I'm just overly safe since alot of people like to b**** alot on this board. Also isn't there a thread about " Mark spoilers or be banned" Hmm maybe thats why people over use it? I find people like you annoying but, I don't randomly make a post about it. Plus you don't need to be rude. Also I actually do have a paranoia problem, would you like to comment on another disability, maybe someone on here is dyslexic (lets go find them and pick on their spelling. _________________

I used to have a great theory on Megaman's little Navi symbol, but now I can't remember it :grr:!
As for Protoman's, I still believe it is some sort of twisted Yin-yang. I'm not referring to the whole sense of balance between good and evil, but rather to the discipline that is required to accomplish this balance. I know that Chaud's family is probably the most disciplined set of characters in the series; it only makes sense that their emblem represents their dominant trait.

Rock's sybol looks like a sign that says "No ___" like a "No smoking" maybe It represents..... No Idiots? It would make sense because Netto can't see it if it's on his head all the time and he's the only stupid Hikari : .

Wow that is a longshot. Nonetheless, it's nice to see others' perspectives. _________________ Me: Honestly, Rock. It's so obvious she's got the hots for you. She gets like a giddy little schoolgirl everytime she's near you.

No kidding, that's a very...different...looking Protoman *snerk* Of course, the concept images for everyone else are just as...well, different XD
I don't really have any theories about Protoman's symbol, but I always thought of Megaman's like two halves of something coming together, incomplete without the other but whole with each other. In fact... it may have something to do with the whole Saito thing, two identical halves of one whole, but seperated down the middle with a loss... Of course, I'm assuming Dr. Hikari (I'm not attempting that first name either XD; ) has been using that symbol for a while but who knows, twins may run in the Hikari family ^^;... Or I dunno, my theories are generally crackpot anyway _________________

yes... but Saito didn't exist in the Anime, don't forget, although that does sound like one of the more reasonable theories to explain the Hikari icon... |

Indeed. The symmetry implies two identical entities joined as one, as the case between Netto and Saito. Even though many other navis have symmetric insignia, the Hikari icon is the only one that I can think of that has the line of symmetry clearly delineated (the black strip between the two halves) _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! The games were made before the anime existed, unless you are implying that Capcom would change the icon just because Shopro won't bring Saito into the anime. :\ _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |

The anime definitely doesn't matter for icons. Remember Bass? His anime icon is a slash, just like the game version. But the game Bass got that slash from the 'leet navi corps trying to delete him, while anime Bass doesn't share that backstory. Similarily, Megaman can have an icon representing twins and not affect what it looks like in the anime. |

And even if they aren't twins, they can still have a bond. They are really good friends.
I think Protoman's symbol is a bit of everything. Yes it could be a family crest, yes it could be a bolt of lightning and yes it could represent Chaud's hair. I doubt the symbol relates to yin and yang. I think it's purely coincidence, because:
A) Blues is not a balanced character. (refer to "Blues' Long Day")
B) We cannot assume that the designers had Dark Blues in mind when they made the symbol.
C) Where are the dots? You know the dots on Yin and Yang?
I don't want to throw the theory out completely but I just don't see it. Yes there are similarities, but they don't really have that huge and influence. My theory is that all the icons are simple abstract reprentations of the operators character and/or themes. _________________ Original name: blazequest |

Actually, if you think about the most common meaning of the ying yang (as "Even the good can be evil, and evil may turn out good")and you take Enzan and Blues personalities, you'll see an irony coming: they do not think there can be a middle path: evil is evil and goodness is goodness, they do not touch.
Again, it can be too much thinking. _________________

Well, reading that last sentence and thinking about the icon, it makes sense. They see everything in black and white, there is no grey. _________________

Okay, before anybody claims to be an expert on what the symbol in question means, at least don't call it "ying yang". It's YIN people. Yin and Yang.
Now I'm no expert on Taoism either but I know enough about it to know a lot of you are over-simplifying the meaning of the Yin Yang symbol. There's a lot of complexity in its meaning which is part of the reason I REALLY REALLY doubt something like Protoman's icon has anything to do with it. |

Yes, I wrote it wrong, sorry about the misspelling. I'm not an expet either, but I stated from the begining I would use the most common meaning.
Anyway, another posible meaning of the simbol is pretty simple: it's his company simbol. _________________

I think Stream Ep32 will pretty much explain Blues's symbol. It's a variation of the old company symbol (the Z-shape theory goes here), but I'm not sure why they colored it black and white... _________________ 闇の黒井心の本当のカ
