I like the old ones from the first season better. Bigger screens, a lot sleeker and less sloppy looking, and the biggest thing - the term 'Plug in!' works better with an actual plug, don't you think? |
i was wondering 2 for the plug ports....maybe they had time to waste and change them all over the city...XD
but i dun like the ones from season 1&2 for 1 reason...they look too much like 'plastic'....i like the ones of axess better because of that....¬¬ _________________ ~Delta~

The plugs are not totally gone.
Notice that Mejin plugged his Advance PET into the keypad in Axess episode 1 with a cable, and in Stream, [spoil:426946cf26]when Rockman got captured by Forte after Netto beat that giant Metool[/spoil:426946cf26], Enzan went up to one of those Season 1/2 green phone booths and plugged his Advance PET straight in.
We don't know quite how much time passed between EXE Season 2 and Axess, so perhaps there was a big push by IPC to upgrade as many things as possible in anticipation of the Advance PET.
This exact thing was actually covered like a week or two before that script kiddie got the old forum taken down. |

In Axess, the Advanced PET has just enough room for the Navi to stand and turn around, that's it.
And in the latest Stream episode, Chaud connects his PET Progress right into a PC using a cord from the computer (no Jack In sequence! -throttles Anime makers-). I guess that they had to have a way to adapt to the old technology somehow... (/side comments)
I love the Plug-in P.E.T., not only did everyone have a unique Jack-In sequence with those, but it looked so cool watching that cord stretch out to one-tenth of a mile.
I draw the line with the folding keyboard in the Manga though, that just makes it look lopsided. _________________

I always figured the wireless PETs could connect to the plug ports, like how Pokemon GSC was compatible with RBY, but way more advanced.

But they're so cute that way! :D I like the Advanced PET because it's tiny, wireless, has a handle, and looks like my GBA SP (minus the Pokemon stickers, of course). The Progress PET just looks like a PSP to me. *imagines Netto shooting battle chips out of his PET like a hyper machine gun* *wonders if it can actually do that*
Actually, if PETs are supposed to be cell phones, that would make Progress more like an N-Gage. _________________ My feathered kids

The Progress is my favorite, though the Plug-In is next. The Adv. is kinda too small. But the Advanced II is cool.

I would prefer the advance PET because I have one :V and that it's easier to carry around(like in school)and you don't need a wire to "jack in".all of my stuff that have to do with the wire always breaks! _________________

I just love the Plug-In PET... it's plug-in makes more sense than the other plug-ins. (I hope you understood that.)
Nowadays whenever I plug in something like a game controller, I plug it in exactly like that. |

I prefer the appearance of the Advanced/Axess PET much more than the old Plug-in PETs. Those old ones look too bulky to really be convenient. However, I still prefer how the Plug-in PETs actually "Plug-in" (the laser plug-in sequences look kind of lame). _________________ Me: Honestly, Rock. It's so obvious she's got the hots for you. The plug-wireless conversion is easy to think if you have seen a wireless keyboard/mouse: They only had to make an adapter and plug it in the old slot and Voila! you got yourself a wireless terminal.
As for PETs, I like the Advanced and progress equally, you can use the wireless (wich I don't like for technical reasons) and also can plug!. I really don't like the PlugIn PET because it seems a backward step from today Palmtops and handhelds. _________________

Um, LightRoll.EXE, I think you mean the Advanced PET.
I loved the Plug-In version mainly for the battle chip slotting in sequences, especially when Program Advances were done. They looked so awesome. The Advance version killed that since you had to slot in from the top, so no fast chip slotting and cool movements.
To be honest, slotting in chips with the Advance PET reminded me of dunking Oreo cookies in a glass of milk, it was slow and not as impressive looking. _________________

I like the PET's that Netto and Enzan use in Stream. The way battle chips are put in is much better. |

I like the uber-original Plug-in PETs from the first two games and the first parts of the manga the best. Not too high tech looking. AXESS and Stream over did it. Plus, it made more sense for e-mails becuase it had a keyboard. _________________
