For me, using the sub names is my way of showing my true fandom to Rockman. I mean, since he is created in Nipon (whoops - going too far. I mean "Japan") then using the names given to him and the other characters by their (for the others) Japanese creators is like showing appreciation for their creativity

No name bugs me either way.

THe US names better relate to the American fan base, and the Japanese names better relate to the Japanese fan base.

Lan Hub and Netto Saito are basically the same pun, they probably worked really hard trying to think of names to relay the same puns.

Look at Mayl, it's the same pun as the Japanese (Mail spelled differently) we could've easily gotten "mandy" or "Gina" but they tried hard to translate the puns in the way the Japanese did

In the anime credits, his name isn't spelled with that kanji. Of course, it is his full name, so I'm not sure if "Hino Ken" is spelled the same way in the game...

Sub names, if and only if because I think Hub is a bad name (really sorry if that's your name) and Lan isn't one of my fav names either ^^;.

I happen to think all of the puns of the subs are cute. Net and Site, Rock and Roll. Yanno, all that. Also, I have a disturbing fetish for japanese names, but hey, I'm weird.

Also, as was pointed out to us in the channel by "Izu?" Netto and Saito can also mean Heated Battle and Icy Battle. Which I found amazingly cute :3

Which would also give some insight into how Saito would handle being human with Netto as Rockman. XD Although I thought "ice" was a different kanji, as the current one actually means "colorful" or "rainbow". But, whatever the Japanese wanna translate it as. <_<;;

Izu said it was a meaning that is no longer used. It just could mean that.

I was using the dub names when I first saw the show, but I soon found this site and the real names. A long programming of "Rockman" and "Netto" into my head followed.^^;

Wait, wasn't one of Rockman's name possibilities Rainbowman?(Or was that just a rumor?) Either way, he could still change colors in the original series, so that name REALLY fits Saito. o_o;

I know that as well, but they shorten the Ken when they say it.

Also is 'koori' the kanji for ice? o.o

Sub names are so much cooler. It gives the anime more of a pure feel, like you're watching something authentically Rockman.EXE, not that Megaman that's been mutilated and edited for the sake of rating-friendliness. The dub names (at least the American ones) sound OKAY...but not nearly as good as the subs.

I like the sub names more, but the dub names arent bad. Except the name changes like Savageman, Spoutman etc since the game kept their original names >_>

Yeah, I heard that rumor too, and I think it's legit. But at some point you have to step back and think that maybe this is just a coincidence.

Basic rule for any MegaMan fan: If the MMHP backs it, then you can bet that the info is true.

Yes, Rock's first name was almost RainbowMan (now, you have to remember what time period this was). But they scrapped that for the 'Rock and Roll' pun.

You have to remember that the name was for the classic 'RockMan', which was long before EXE had even been dreamed up. It had nothing whatsoever to do with Saito/Hub; therefore, it's just one of those mystical coincidences(sp?).
