I want to hear everyone's thoughts on the guy. Personally, I think he's fruity and I like his american name because it can easily be mistaken from "Elpis" to "Elf Piss."

That's a rather odd reason to like an American name over a Japanese one. XD Elpizo (I think that's how you spell it x.x) was one of those characters I thought was a girl at first glace..but that seems to be normal for the Rockman series. XP So he's pretty nifty looking over all, I'm not a fan of pink, but it doesn't look bad on him for some reason. o.o;

Yeah, I thought he was a girl as well. And I know it's wierd that I like his american name for that reason, but think about it. "Elf Piss.'' It just is wrong and funny.

I like Elpis' name, and like most of the RMZ characters, his name has a meaning. (I haven't seen a name WITHOUT a meaning yet, honestly except for X and Zero)

Elpis is the God of Hope in greek mythology.
In RMZ2, Elpis is the the hope that with his leadership, the Rebellion would overcome the Neo Arcadia forces.

There is a meaning to X and Zero's name I believe, as well as Sigma. All three are used in mathematics. X is used as an unknown, zero is neither negative or positive, and Sigma is used commonly in Algebra2 and PreCalculus. Same with Omega in science. Also, Sigma and Omega are both greek letters of course.

old and off-topic

I dislike Elpis. He was sort of cool when I first started playing Zero 2, then I found out he's the "good-guy gone wrong" kind of character, which immediately made me hate him. I can't stand those kind of characters.

This guy cracked me up, to no end. I think it was the little hand-flips that totally made me fall offa the bed. Weird, wierd man. I don't dislike him, though. His character was pretty annoying and his laughs are creepy, but he's a'ight. Hee.

He could have been a solid character if they didn't make him evil, at least, that's what I believe... It was kind of obvious that he would turn out to be a bad guy, though =\.

Let's just say that if I'd lose the last vestige of my sanity and start cosplaying, I'd cosplay as Elpis in his Dark Elf form.

Or maybe I might buy some bulk Bondo, Spandex, and vinyl dye and put together an R-Searchman costume, complete with a Search Rifle paintball gun.

Regardless, he's an awesome Reploid, in spite of him being a human-hating, pink-clad megalomaniac.

All of you have good comments about the reploid Elipzo/Elpis in the Rockman Zero 2. I think that it's good that someone could learn a thing or two about the Rockman X/MegaMan X relating to the Zero series. Sure that the former soldier of Neo Arcadia was a bit of a nut job at first, but only because he had such a rough time being a grunt for the forces of Neo Arcadia. This, in term, turned to his search for the Dark Elf in order to try to overpower those who treated him badly and rule over them.

That's how the powers of darkness work. They seek out beings, whether they be human or reploid, with the most distressing feelings and feed on their emotions so that they would one day seek out enough power to take their vengence on those people. I feel sorry for that guy. He had to go through such a rough time only to end up hurt in the end realizing his mistakes. But on a brighter note, he was given another chance by being turned into a Cyber Elf by the Dark Elf/Mother Elf. I hope that he'll be back.

Oh, and all of you think that you know Elipzo/Elpis as well as his ambitions. Well, there's more to him than anyone else here thinks. I should know because I've stumbled across information that could change about how you think about him. For example, I know that his real name isn't really Elipzo/Elpis. Send me an E-mail and you'll all see what I mean.

Later!

The following honestly isn't a flame, though it might come off sounding like one. Just a brutally honest suggestion.

Honestly, do you always have to say something along those lines whenever a half-pointless, open-ended thread pops up? You sound like the stereotypical creepy psychologist working with juvenile delinquents that says, in an unsettlingly soft tone and slight lisp, "Now, all of you bring up very good points."

No offense, but leave that chunk out. It's completely unnecessary and really kills your post. Is it that hard to just quote the enlightening post and say, "Wow, thanks. I never knew that," or something along those lines?

And don't leave out information and ask people to e-mail you for it, especially on a board where kids below the age of 15 post. It only serves to make you sound like a pedophile stalker.

I thought he was alright. He got really cool when he seemed all evil and [spoil:a7c315b831]Dark-Elf[/spoil:a7c315b831] infested.

I dunno, I think what I liked most about him was "Supreme Ruler". *puts on earphones and cranks up his CD player.* Best boss music ever.

The song was okay. Nothing special IMO. "Departure" was the best track in RMZ2.

The moves he pulled were awesome, though. That beam rapier kicks ass. Zero should've totally gotten a beam rapier, or at least some thrusting moves with his Z-saber.

Though Elpizo's first form was a bit more difficult than Copy X's first form to battle, it was somehow much less annoying. His second form, though, was somewhat annoying, but less so than Copy X's seraph form.

What Sonic is referring to is that Elpis' REAL name is TK31.
I forget the exact story, but Elpis was a soldier in Neo Arcadia, saw an "Elpis" project, and ran off to join the rebels. He then adopted the name.
At least, that's what I remeber, but my TELOS CD drifted away from me...gotta find that sucker.

Elpis is also the exact greek word for hope, besides being the god of hope.
his character design is amazing, I thought he was a she at first, but when I saw his supreme ruler form I changed my mind, Elpis' has that awesome pink coat, that girlish laugh, and everything a terribly gay repliroid should have, and you know what? that is awesome, Tsutomu Kashiwakura, Elpis' Seiyuu was chosen perfectly for him.

From what I've been able to conclude from Telos, is that TK31(Elpis) Entered some kind of Data ruin, and learned about Omega,DrVile the Darkelf and Project Elpis, he was found by Harpuia, and told to forget what he saw, back at his facility, a Neo Arcadian Enforcer patrol busted in, declaring TK31 Irregular, he escaped with the help of another Repliroid and he decided to be called Elpis from that moment on, he managed to obtain Cr'eer, the first babyelf, by himself before joining the resistance, you can see that when you' ve been brought bakc from the desert, Cr'eer is already there...

personally I think Elpis is THE most beautifull and gracefull Repliroid ever designed, I casually try to mimic his stances and laugh, because he is just that cool.

one slight thing that I disliked was that he was a pushover, he didn't really feel like an endboss, even though he did scream like one ^^
