Ya know, going back through this thread, I realize a lot of people think these Chibis o' mine are "freaky." Nothing wrong with that. It's just that I guess everyone has their own interpretation when it comes to "cute," I suppose, and this just happens to be my own. I only intended to draw regular chibis with Neko mouths. I woulda drawn a tail and ears, but ultimately decided to just leave them like that. My bad. And yes, I'll probably be drawing more chibis and still improving.

Yes, their bodies were sort of South Park inspired, and the truth is I actually began that style in 1995, just before South Park even aired. This is my style, and I've come too far to turn back for anything else. I seem to have a coupla hits with Shademan and Searchman, and as for Duo...well, he's naturally weird.

More pics will come, but in the meantime...salad and lasagna are calling my name. ^_^

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY. Another attempt at a girl. Sure you can't see her lower body and a fox's body doesn't really qualify as human, but heck, it's worth a try.

Anywhoop, some may remember that I've been working on a fan character series called the 3 Zodiacs. I've just watched Kung Fu Hustle, Stephen Chou's best work ever, and got inspiration for the Nine-Tailed Butterfly Fox, Blind.EXE, from the two awesome harp player assassins that completely PWN, and a little o' Naruto mixed in as well. The human girlie is named Lumine, based on the X8 character of the same name:

CHARACTER BIOS

LUMINE: The daughter of a high-ranking official in Pei'Shan's military, Lumine is a quiet and rather timid dreamer who prefers tranquil sunsets over violent Net Battles. Although she is usually calm and reserved by nature, Lumine often gets into disagreements with LaRon, as they fail to see eye-to-eye regarding battle strategy, and Chin is often the one forced to break them up. Lumine is a highly intelligent girl who enjoys strategy games like Risk and chess, and is now dabbling in Chinese Checkers. As if by magic, she is able to deduce brilliant battlefield strategies that surround and destroy waves of enemies in a matter of mere moments.

BLIND.EXE: The Nine-Tailed Fox of the Water Element, Blind is an unusual Navi with a striking yet gracious appearance and an even more unique form of attack. Much in the way Chin's Navi Miyamoto can use his paintbrush to summon weapons, she can summon weapons and even virii by playing harmonious tunes with her harp. Their attacks are relatively similar, except that Blind, unlike Miyamoto, is designed more for strategic use rather than hand-to-hand combat.

...WHEW. And the Three Zodiacs are done. More fancharacters may come with inspiration, although the latter obviously has to come first. If youse wanna see the other two Zodiacs, they're floating around somewhere in the back. :]

Thanks again for the comment, UN! Yup, now that the Zodiacs are done with, I'm gonna go back to the official characters...at least until more inspiration pops up from wherever it may be hiding.

In the meantime, the MHHO Bathing Suit Contest is taking up most of my interest. A few people at the Gamers Hall forum urged me to do some Roll art. So comin' up next...Roll in a Bathing Suit at the Beach! (Or as we say in California...CALIFORNIA ROLL!)

Forgot to make a comment here last time I checked. Anyway, Lumine looks nice. She reminds me of another character (Rouge or something like that). Also, Blind.EXE is a great idea as well. She can play her koto (Japanese harp) to her opponents' deletion.

MHHO Bathing Suit Contest? What's that? Can you give more detail? Sounds interesting :] ...

Thanks for the feedback N2O! Yeah, the Maq's Hunter Hide-Out contest is something I heard about pretty recently. Been running since May 1, and it'll end August 31. It has 2 categories: Humor and Talent. You're allowed to send 1 entry for each category and there's a 2 entry max. So the judging rule says if one entry wins first, the other won't be considered. The character can be either gender from any series, but has to be in a bathing suit. The MHHO site has the links to the contest and all the other juicy detail, and you can also find more info on the Planet Mega Man news update titled, "Time to Get Wet."

Well, well. It's finally here. Almost.

It has come to my attention that fan characters, even the female ones, have a relatively short "shelf life," so to speak. With that, I'd like to announce a little preview of the Roll Bikini pic I've had rolling around in my head for a coupla days. Mostly fantasizing about it, but that's another story entirely, eh? So I've decided to let fantasy become reality and post a little work-in-progress here.

(BALEETED!! One too many cases of art theft and recoloring without my permission on this one, so if you want it, email me.)

Yap. Works-in-progress are tempting lead-ins aren't they? So rate this one if you please, but bear in mind this ain't the real deal, much less the completed deal. Colored version will be posted by sometime tomorrow.

EDIT: Random observation. This is reply number 69 in my post. Nothing to get too worked up about...OR IS IT? Bwahaha. There's just something I like about that number...

DRAWN WITH: Inked with inking pen (Yay, I become the 16th century author again!), colored by Photoshop 7. Grrrr...I wish I had a Wacom Pen Tabby (sic) like DeadlySerenade's. She's got a hella sweet setup from what I can see by looking at her art, but I'll make do with a Wimpy Mousie for now.

You're looking at my official entry for the Maq's Hunter Hide-Out Bathing Suit Contest. Roll getting drunk at an empty beach...yay! If only I were there...ah, a guy can dream. If this gets put into the "Humor" category, I will be thoroughly disappointed, or amused, or even a combination of both.

Anywhoopsy-daisy, finished this one a lot sooner than I thought I would. The different textures of the sand and ocean were a pain to work with, and you'll prolly notice my difficulty with coloring the sand -__-. Just combined a bunch of textures and colors while shouting "DUH-EEEE!" at the top o' my stupid little lungs.

That said...take THAT, Sports Illustrated! And now for the appropriate smiley: :D

I wouldn't be able to tell it was Roll if you didn't say so. She looks... 200X times older :D Yeah okay maybe not that much older but definitely older than Roll. I think it's the eyes.

Artisticnesswise, I'd say it looks pretty good though. Good job.

Could someone explain to me what a "Wacom Pen Tabby" is....?(oh yeah and I also thought you were referring to the admin Tabby :V )

To Unknown Neo: Yeap, I kinda meant for her face to look like that. I'm basically following the trend that anime girls have, that on a female face the nose isn't very visible. I deliberately didn't accent it that much, because I kept screwing up every time I wanted to give her nose a harder outline -__-. And no, she doesn't have a swimsuit bottom under that wrap. I had found the loophole in the MHHO Rules...I can be resourceful as well. And besides, the drawing looks better and cleaner without one. I was going for style on this one. That's right. STYLE. Nothing more than STYLE.

To Pitchums: I purposely designed her to be that mature so that she had a "bikini body" for this competition. Majorly out-of-context but necessary edit on my part...hehe. To answer your other question, the Wacom tablet is essentially a mousepad with a built-in input screen so that you can use a pen-like stylus for a more natural feel, as though you're drawing an actual hand-drawn pic. They usually function like mice in that you don't draw on a monitor but on a mousepad-like secondary pad, although there are monitors that have this feature built-in. They're a lot more expensive though. (Once again, my apologies to Tabby for the bad pun.)

Yeah...I guess you're right, MSP. In retrospect, I did draw her a little too mature in this pic. A beach in California without any tourists is something a little out of place, too. Very out-of-context, but one could argue that this is what she would look like maybe 10 years later, when Meiru's in college and both of them have got it goin' on.
